I have been running since 1970, and my knees are finally just about gone due to loss of cartilage. I can only run once a week or so, on grass only, and no more than 4 miles.
I've been using a NordicTrak elliptical, which has served its purpose, but is not the best. Think I paid $500 years ago.
I'm tired of high maintenance costs when parts break down. Any suggestions for specific machines?
I am thinking of getting a Landice, about $3,600 with a lifetime warranty on parts. But I am not at all sure I want to spend that kind of money, which is a lot to me, but worth it if the machine ends up being the best investment over the long haul.
Has anyone owned a Smooth (brand name) elliptical? Are they any good?
There is feedback from elliptical users but I want to hear from real runners who use these machines.
I am open to any machines and can pay up to about $4000, but no more. But I would like to pay less if there is no need to spend that much money. I would probably use the machine 90 to 120 minutes a day/5 days a week year round.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
