Why not 1 mile every 30 minutes for 24 hours?

I plan on retiring from my job in a couple years. This would make an epic retirement party--set up a tent on a football field--and end it with a high noon beer mile. Invite my friends to run as little or as much as they want.

they got married this past summer. he doesnt run much anymore i dont think

Ian's girlfriend, who knew what he was trying to accomplish that day, presumably never said, "hey babe, you know what, why do I call call (insert name here) and maybe he/she can give me a ride to and from work today so you can eat/sleep/recover a bit instead of worrying about my transportation."

She didn't think to do this?!

Or Ian is so unselfish he didn't think it was a big deal to ask her to find her own rides?
