Job opening at ASU, or just speculation?
Maybe he's taking the UWF job. They said a DI coach from NC was taking it right?
Anybody know anything on the Wellesley and Williams jobs? Is that just a formality in both cases? I know they have interim coaches in place at Williams and I'm told the asst is going to step in at Wellesley.
Doesn't make sense for him to leave Appy. With them move to the Sun Belt, it means more scholarships and better competition. UWF is D2, so pay can't be good.
Any inside word coming out of Clemson, what is going to happen to the staff there after the season ends, Everyone gone or staying?
Right a Div I Asst in XC/Track is making so much more than a Div II head coach just because it is Div I school. And APP State is major D-I school. That post is a as silly as it sounds.
A quick search of the state database reveals the following about what a Cross Country coach at App State makes. It's not hard to figure out when its all public information. That being said, why would you leave d1 for d2?
I have no idea, for the record, but one dude said he's leaving, and another guy said a D-I coach from NC was taking the UWF job. Sounds like a match to me. I get the pay issue, but UWF is in a nice location too, so who knows how that might sway people.

I'm in my first year at a D2 school as the lowest assistant and I make 42,000 a year.... and cost of living is cheap. Sometimes you will be surprised at who pays and who doesn't. I looked around at the NC schools and I make more then a couple of the HC's.
These are all valid points. Making 42k at a D2 school can be a great set up (less pressure, lower cost of living, not as much travel, etc). Hell, maybe this guys even has the time to raise a family...AND be a decent parent!
I challenge those of you who want to get into this profession to look around at the lives these coaches live and decide if it really is what you want to do...

Young guy who grew up in the area. Maybe he'll end up staying for a while longer than the last two.

Still TBD, the situation will be evaluated at the end of the current outdoor season. New AD is evaluating all coaches as well so things could change quite a bit. or not at all.
Bye bye clemson staff. New director will hire his/her own.
Every time I've seen Shawn Cobey (the big orange/purple blob that appears to have had an airhose shoved up his ass), He seems to act as though he's staying around the armpit of South Carolina. He has told many of my colleagues that he and the rest of the staff will be saying.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Clemson's new head coach will come from the ACC...But it ain't gonna be no internal hire!
Well who do you have in the ACC that may be taking over at Clemson?
My pick are:
Amy Deem ( Miami Director)
Ken Harden ( FSU Director of Sprints)
No one else is qualified to take over this good of a team
You're the expert on who's "qualified" huh? Since you obviously have no idea what's going on, maybe you should just shut up and wait for the announcement.
Greg Jack @ Virginia Tech is qualified!
Haha! Someone has obviously lost to his athletes! Must be one hell of a functional one looking at Greg's resume! Typical letsrun as any young guy becomes successful!!
So true. Remember when they painted Spivey to be an alcoholic? Dude doesn't even drink. People just love saying ignorant crap.
Does anyone have information about the Academy of Art University job? What the head coach is like? The school? Scholarships? Any info what so ever?
