Do we have confirmation on Wisconsin and Kareem?
Flanagan & Webb at Portland State
I have to say as a long-time collegiate coach that this year was the strangest hiring year in my memory. Not saying it was a bad thing, just hard to follow and predict what was going to happen. One thing has become abundantly clear - AD's are no longer ignoring track coaches and the number who got fired this year alarming. In the past as long as you didn't get caught with your privates exposed the AD wouldn't even know you were alive. Now, you better win and fund-raise, and be a good person. Oh my, how times have changed!!
Brian Delsite, head coach at Duquesne, just named Assistant Coach at Bucknell
Anyone have any news on Coker College starting a program? Is this a sought after job or a good job for an assistant coach to get their feet wet as a head coach and build a program from scratch?
How do you know that Brain Delsite left Duquesne? Why would he leave a head coaching position to take a $25,000 job at Bucknell?
Roosevelt lofton will be new head coach at Charleston Southern men.
23 years in the college coaching profession. I agree with you that times have changed.... The sad thing is the loyalty is not there anymore... Just win at all costs is coming across to the Olympic sports not too. No longer do you see coaches staying at one school 25-30+ years... A coach puts in 15+ quality productive years as an assistant and when the head job opens - they hire someone on the outside. Happens every year all over.. Sad...
Gettysburg college needs a shakeup badly, not sure how much the AD is for it, if you were qualified I'm sure he'd go for it
My friend on the SIUE team confirmed the report that Coach Jackson has accepted position at Wisco, and added that the Cross Country Head Coach has been named Head Track & Field Coach.
I am assuming Bucknell pay's much more than $25,000
Why does every person assume that just because you are not a "major" program from a "major" conference that assistant coaches make crap. I know many "mid majors" who pay better than "majors" pay.
Because Bucknell listed the position for $25,000.
did not see a salary listed for Bucknell position.

This came out of nowhere. Explain.
I would be blown away by Lofton taking the Charleston Southern job. That has to be a fall from grace. I would think that based on that job that he did when he was at Abilene would justify a mid major head job at the D1 level or at the very least a great D2 job.
So taking a job at a Christian based D-I school and support your family or wait for a bigger school to hire you. hmmm What a comment by a young coach obvious still looking for a job. Coach Lofton will do a great job at CSU. It is not all about the school name if you really want to coach and develop athletes.
