It seems clear the best way to get a D1 job is to volunteer at a high level program. Young people, don't waste your time actually learning how to coach and make decisions. Watch someone else do it and get a good reference.
As much as people hate it on these boards, it's who you know not what you know. The good old boy network, works. Work for some one that is successful and move on to take over a legit program. It's tough coming from the bottom up. It can happen (see Vin Lannana) but it's rare.
did Texas A&M Commerce hire anybody? Haven't seen a release or heard anything.
Look for an opening at Ohio State soon.
Why is there no evidence on Lehigh or Butler's websites about a job opening? Are those jobs real, filled, or predicted?
East Tenn St and San Diego St have been open for a while.
Have those two been filled yet?

What role is Texas seeking to fill?

They've gotta be close to hiring, practice has started at most place.

As someone who applied, he seems to be an excellent hire. I bet this program will flourish.
Please explain? More details.
Definitely not the best candidate. He was a career assistant coach that is a safe hire, as he is willing to stay in nowhere Texas forever. Instead of ascending to take the place of Abilene, Commerce will never top Dibbern's former team, Angelo. Typical safe hire by the AD, who is a football guy (per usual).
This is probably one of the guys that didn't get the job. For those that have been around track at the D2 level in Texas, you won't find a harder working coach. This guy might take a few years to get in the athletes he needs to be successful, but he was the right hire for this program.
I heard rumor that Jason Wakenight from Loyola University is up for the Wisconsin position. Can anyone confirm this?
