What makes you think something is going on with Coach Lynn?
Word around Columbus is that Olinger met with head track coach and was put in front of team members this week. Same went for Cathy Casey from SMU later in the week. Olinger is an interesting candidate but Casey looks like the easy hire here. She has the head coaching experience. However will be interesting to see how OSU moves here. Could Olinger as a home grown Ohio lad help restore faith is OSU women's program and potentially be a long term solution?

This hire will come down to who will work for the least amount of $ and put up with the most head coach b.s. !!
Ohio State cross country:
When are people going to realize this is a s**t job.
The last 2 XC coaches in 2 years have left!
That's a NEW coach EVERY year!
Olinger has been volunteering with the men's program since he graduated and also spent time devoloping a high school program in Columbus. I would guess he has an intimate knowledge of t he program, university, and Ohio as he worked closely with Robert and also helped Coach Allen in the transition. Seems to me like he is the best long term solution for Ohio State.
Hope he doesn't have a family to support since Coach Dennis doesn't pay much!
Who in the hell would want this job other than someone looking to borrow the OSU brand as a springboard to greeener pastures?

This is a ridiculous statement. The athletic department decides what the coaches are paid. Not Coach Dennis.
This is an athletic department issue all around the country. Coaches are the victims. All of them. Even ones that may be hard to work with head coaches. It seems virtually zero athletic directors take the amount of effort track coaches put in to the success of their department serious.
I can't believe that Bryce prefers Van Patton's card to mine.

Actually at some programs the head coach is given a pool of money for assistant coach salaries. They could choose to go after a couple big names and pay a lot and then have very little left for another.

You just reiterated my point. Who exactly is it who gives this pool to the head coaches? Oh that's right the athletic department. Who says what the department is giving them is enough to pay assistants well? You can't blame this on head coaches.
In the Ohio State situation Dennis only has 2 assistants. How creatively could you break a pool up in that situation?

Its a shit job that paid the last coach $60k, check ohio state university salary database, So it seems that you are wrong in that it doesn't pay much. Check your facts before you post.
Have the OSU runners reported for preseason yet?
Who is coaching them while Dennis interviews candidates?!
Purdue?
Michigan?
Illinois?
Air Force?
Still some jobs opened...
