Per the NYTimes, Yuriy Bilonog and 3 other Athens Olympic medalists have tested positive after retesting stored samples:
"Nelson said he was elated at hearing the news of Bilonog’s positive test on Wednesday.
“I heard rumors about Yuriy and doping at the Games,” Nelson said. “But I dismissed them. But now it comes to light that it’s true.”"
Can't imagine only finding out now that you were the gold medalist, 8 years later...
Congratulations to Adam Nelson - he truly exemplifies all that is good in T&F and the Olympics! I hope that he can celebrate his achievement in a world-class event or setting.
Agreed. Great guy. Can't help but think that it's bittersweet to receive it now, rather than actually get to revel in it during the moment. Plus, the whole 'hey I probably would have made a decent chunk in endorsements' thing...

I can't believe they would give Nelson Gold without re-testing his sample as well.
That would not make sense.
You can' retro-actively apply a rule to one and not the other.
