Disappointing performances for many. At least we got a good battle between Fujiwara and Kawauchi despite the many disappointing performances.

Kawauchi's done. Wouldn't be surprised with a DNF.
LOL. Yuki will never DNF unless he drops dead.

Geb dropped out? No way I'm so shocked right now...
I'll ask on this thread too - I'm curious about the results - looks like 200+ people dropped out....it looked windy, but was it that bad there?
Impressive amateur field! Finisher number 344 was under 2:40...and preceded mostly by japanese guys, with the execption of the elite in the first rankings....
Japanese marathoners are strong!
Another Haile DNF. Why is this not unexpected.
Geb reminds me a once great boxer that refuses to retire and gets his ass beat every fight.
He's tarnishing his career with this relentless charade. Every DNF is so unexpected and sad to see.

Last time he DNF'ed, he was running with the guy who went on to break the WR. Interesting how it's hard to run a 2:03 marathon, huh?

You got the answer on the other thread. They pull people off the course if they fall behind 2:46:00 pace. There was almost no wind. About as perfect conditions as you could hope for.
