Marius
Bakken,
If Norway put a team together, would you run World Cross? Why don't they have a team? It would be perfect for you, because you would be very successful at either distance and it could very well further (or not at all hinder) your main goals on the track. Checking, and proving, your fitness at this time of year could be valuable.
Either way, I wish you would test yourself with a race, in public, before Floro. And not just for my own voyeuristic reasons, but because I think it might benefit you. Many great runners, like Gebrselassie and Tergat and El Guerrouj and Komen, have had two periods in a given year in which they raced with great success.
P.S. I would love to see more triple and quadruple smiley faces on your Marius Updates. The frequency of these has diminished in the last 10-12 months. I wonder, is this because fewer triple/quadruple smiley-face-worthy things have been happening, or is it because you now hold events up to a higher standard, i.e. it now requires more than it did in the past to elicit these symbols? I'm sure it's not a sign of your diminished enthusiasm, but merely a result of being slightly hardened by age and experience. I still patiently await the quintuple smiley face.
P.P.S. You are very wise, and motivate me a lot.
wow over 300 laps per day? If you need 100 calories over 4 laps, you'll be needing around 7000-7500 cal a day just on track?!?!?! Plus the daily activity and post-workout, It would sum up to 10,000 cal per day.
Shit that's at least over U$50 spent just on food perday in America, not to mention the time spent.
Scary.
karangasem.
Not if you eat mostly cereal. You can get over 800 calories to the dollar.
Don't forget good wholesome American white sugar. Or marshmallows. Mmmm calories.
Looking back on my last post, I realize that some of it could be interpreted as being sarcastic. This is the opposite of my intention, as Bakken is really a major role model for me. So, my post may be kind of dumb in parts, but not critical at all. All of my smiley face related questions came straight from my heart, which is likely increasing in size by the day as I up my milage, and the duration and speed of my easy and threshold runs.
At 10 minute mile pace - that's 14 hours of running per day over the 6 days.
