Oh Billy!!!! I want the BLO-JO'S to do me dirty like they just did the whole website!!!!
And we wonder why people don't treat distance running like a "real" sport.
Fine the Brojos win. But in exchange, they need to shut their traps when other posters have the need to troll rather than being little girls about it and deleting the threads for "misleading" or "lack of humor" because honestly, this is just pathetic.
Why can't I just visit a website that will have all the running news I need without the moderators being a pair of dumb@sses? Seriously.
Be professional.
This is not funny.
Damn Brojos...you got me.
Letsrun is one ofbthe few comprehensive and reliable (well...) sources of running news. They cannot do this. Advocacy is fine but trolling the people who really care and rely on you for information just ain't cool. Plus the only people who are affected are the fans not whoever this was directed at
Thread of the year!
Me too. :(

I agree with the post above. I didn't read about 12 pages of this thread), so I'm sure this has already been said...
If LetsRun wants to be seen as a legitimate site and receive respect as real journalists (including media passes), then this type of stupid s--t needs to stop. Obviously LR allows a different type of interaction with its users than a traditional media outlet. That being said, Runner's World aside, do you think any legit media outlet would do something like this? Maybe they don't want to be "mainstream" media, but as we all know the mainstream media doesn't give a s--t about running. We finally make the front of ESPN.com and it's not because a major race has been run, but because it's been cancelled. I think we can all agree that LetsRun is the place most runners come for their news, but if we want to attract a larger audience so that our sport can grow, then LetsRun needs to come correct.

The way NY-ers treat runners isn't funny either.
I thought this thread was hilarious. Agree with the guy who said it was like the scene from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

^This. I feel a bit sick I'm so disappointed. I really hope the brojos' accounts were hacked. If not, then it's really a shame. This was not funny or clever. It was deceitful and in bad taste.
Wejo/Rojo: Thank you for giving your fans what they wanted to read on Sunday.

I appreciate a good joke as much as the next guy, but this is a bit much. How are you going to sit there and complain about NYC cancelling "The Super Bowl of Marathoning" (which NYC is not anyway) and whine about it not be taken seriously if you're going to go and pull this crap?
You know that people look to LR for actual running news, and you exploited that to make an attempt at some joke that would be marginally funny at best. Don't ask for running to be taken seriously, and then do this. Get a freaking hobby if you need to amuse yourselves this badly.
Does anyone know where I can find the results for this online The NYRR/New York Marathon websites don't have anything?
And those with tight sphincters continue to post their disapproval! What a fun bunch they must be.

The NYC marathon was cancelled because holding it would have been insulting to those in this area that lost family or friends, homes and businesses as a result of the hurricane. The NYC marathon, while a professional running event, is largely a parade of people selfishly attempting to meet some meaningless fitness goal that is incomprehensible to people who do not participate in marathons. Mocking area residents for calling for the marathon's cancellation shows a cold lack of compassion for the suffering of millions of people affected by this storm.
Will you people please stop doing that? Holding the marathon would not have been insulting to anyone. No one has yet to give a rational argument how that is the case. Some of us did't like this stunt, but just because we disagree with it doesn't mean we suddenly agree with people like you who are so emotionally confused as to insist cancelling the marathon was the "right thing to do" without offering any sound logical evidence.
this was so good...man...I take back hating u for to much Kenyan coverage.
