She's a junior. Teammate also in the 16's. Deepest field ever at the state meet, ton of girls went sub 17 today.

That's on the notorious short course.

Yes, that extra 39 meters destroys any credibility of this historic performance. She destroyed the original record by 20 seconds set by Kayla Beattie 2 years ago.
http://www.tracktalk.net/updated-detweiller-park-course-faq-t11897.htmlActually it's 211 meters short, i.e. 692.3 feet.
Uh, no.
Think of it this way. Ms. Perez ran almost exactly
15% slower than LV on the same course. If she ran
15% slower than LV for two miles, she would be substantially
under 10 min. So whatever the length of the course,
she hammered it.
13:54=834 seconds
16:02=962 seconds
834/962= 86.7%
100%-86.7%=13.3%
8:29.46=509.46
509.46/0.867=587.6
9:47.6.

Right, a 4:59 girl who lost four xc meets is in 9:47 shape...
From the link you posted dunderhead: "The course length is approximately 4789 meters."
So it might only be 4600 or 4300 meters.
If it is 4789 meters exactly, that is 211 meters short.
211 meters is 692.3 feet.
Dunderhead? ha ha, what are you, 5? You did read the link right? Illinois runs 3 mile cross country (or 4828m), not 5k, everyone but you knows that. The issue was never about that though, it was about the obliteration of an already amazing course record. Enjoy being such a jerk.

Any link to boys' results?

Is everyone in Illinois as stupid as you. Read your own link: "The course length is approximately 4789 meters."
DUH ---- 4789 meters GET IT
It's not 3 miles, it's not 5000 meters, it is NOTHING.
Stupid people.
This year was ridiculously fast, and had perfect whether. The course is fast because it's on a slight gradual incline, and the first mile is downhill-uphill-downhill. 2nd mile flat, last mile uphill-downhill-uphill but you're on your finishing kick so it's still fast.
I'm typing this real slow for your benefit, without the juvenile name calling that you seem to enjoy. My original reply to you stated that the link called the course 39 meters short of 3 miles right? Go back and look at it and read it more slowly this time. You need to settle down, this was never about the distance, it was about the performance. Move along now.

history of times...and destroy them all...wow
see what happens next year!
Boys...14:05 is pretty special too! Look at the history, he up there with some of the best of all time!
Actually Kaylee Flanagan set the course record in Sept.
Maddie Perez was sick the first part of the season.
I think she won regionals and sectionals. Hope
all the girls have stellar outdoor seasons
Lets just stop posting XC times..I mean really, is it so farking hard to measure 5 kilometers?
If I am ever elected president, there will never be another 1600, 3200, or "unknown distance" XC race run in US high schools that receive tax $$.
XC courses will be certified by NIST ( The National Institute of Standards and Tecnhology) as accurate to with in 1m or they will be roped off by DHS goons.
This time is very nice but ultimately meaningless. Tell me what she does on the track in the spring.
Oh, that's right. What did she run? Wasn't it 16:20? I really thought she would be the one to break 16 this year, it's amazing Illinois has had so many amazing times this season and last. The guys race too, love Illinois CC!
