8 in the top 21...9 sec spread for their top 5. They are going to need that pack to be 25-40, with someone in top 20 if they want a chance of taking OSU down.
Blake Theroux SO 23:40
Jake Hurysz JR 23:41
Hugh Dowdy SO 23:42
Aric VanHalen SR 23:46
Martin Medina SR 23:49
Pierce Murphy FR 23:50
Morgan PearsonSO 24:04
Connor Winter FR 24:11
Ten second spread through 6 guys.
2 redshirt freshmen, 3 sophomores and a junior returning.

I wonder if there's a story there.
Maybe DeJarnette is sick? Hope it is just one bad race because the Ducks need him running his best if they want to reach NCAAs.
Redshirt freshman Matt Melancon was #3 for the Ducks. He was under everyones radar coming out of Sheldon HS in Eugene. Melancon is going to be one of best runners in the conference before he's done at Oregon.

I mean first/1st...darn it
How do you gather they would have won with the other Rosa running with his bro?...CU still wins
Not sure how you figure...
If you plug Jim right with Joe this is the new score which is closer but same result

Jim has never been able to run with Joe in XC. The longer the distance, the bigger the gap in Joe's favor.
So, to answer your question - nothing happened to Jim Rosa. He ran as expected.
And to follow up - even if he miraculously kept up with Joe that would have made no difference in the team standings.

Typical Oregon fan. Bad news: Dejarnette is notoriously soft when it matters. Also, other schools were all over Melancon way before UO, he just wanted to be in Eugene. No secret to those of us who know what we're doing.
How in the world is Berkeley's top guy only able to run at 5 minute pace? Huge school, ok running terrain...

interest , can u explain your "pack needing to be 25-40".
Also how do all you posters see CU and Oklahoma State matching up? OSU looked really scary today placing 5 in the top ten although I'm thinking the PAC 12 looks like alot steeper competition than the Big 12. I would kill to have injured CU all american Joe Bosshard back in the mix and/or Ammar Moussa back.Maybe they will be back by regionals? Let me know what you think.
You can't predict because you don't know what everyone is holding back, and that includes Wetmore particularly.
Hopefully by now, Stanford has recognized the (ahem) "wisdom" of trying to win the prelims.
Oregons #3 had huge lead on their 4th most of race and then maor jello legs down the stretch and collapsed twice....once 30m from line.
To be clear...didnt finish 3rd and was around 25:00 and change so i assume it was dejarnette.
Stanford got a horrible start, nearly last at 100m. Their bad. Unterreiner got clipped and lost a shoe at 800m, ran the rest of the way without it. He is quite close to Joe usually and always ahead of Johnson. Still would not have beaten CU today though.
Dude, there were 79 people in the race, doesn't really matter how you start. This wasn't a 300 person race where you are screwed it you don't get out well.
All of this without Bosshard, who most likely would have been their top runner had he not wound up shelved.
possible answer: starts with c and rhymes with "roach".
