Anyone know how she trains. Is she very high mileage? Seems like she is am aerobic machine.
Oh please, where did she cut a turn. Cameras on her every step of the way. Her splits consistently fast all the way. Impossible.
this might be right - 16:00 on that course has to be a 15:20 on the track, which is Abbey D'Ag's best.
Would Baxter win NCAA XC this year?

No, but she'd be top five and maybe be with the lead pack for two miles. She would beat Hasay right now though, considering Hasay isn't running like a superstar just yet.
Nah, 1600 at Mt. Sac is probably like 15:45 for a track 5k.
The guys' record holder, Diego Mercado, ran 14:24 on the course and never ran faster than 13:57 in college. To say he could've ran 13:45 in high school seems rather far fetched.

well ok - but I remember rough days on that course - must have been 30 seconds slower than my best 5k in HS. But maybe they have changed the course since the 80s.
Well Abbey D'Agostino would destroy her, because she's just at another level, but for a high school junior that is INSANE. Probably worth 15:45 on the track normally, but you have to take into account she's a much better hill runner and xc runner than track runner. I do think she'll break Sisson's 15:48 record before she graduates.
She is so smooth and consistent. I had doubted her future because she doesn't have great leg speed, but she really has an incredible aerobic engine. Over 6k XC, who knows what she could do.
Who?

I think your logic seems rather far fetched. Plenty of people are faster in high school than they were in college. Your example really doesn't make sense when you account for xc-to-track conversion. 14:24 xc is pretty close or the same as a 13:57 track time (assuming it's a track time). You're basing your conclusion on ONE guy who never improved after high school???
^^ that was 2 springs ago after her freshman track season. The only 5k she has ever run on the track...she almost ran that at the state xc meet which is a full 5k.
Please...she could easily run low 15:40's if not better right now.
--she doesn't have great leg speed, but she really has an incredible aerobic engine--
like trotter. or, even paula radcliff?
How many girl footlocker champions have gone on to win NCAA X Country Chps?
Laura Hollander.
16:17 5k pace
Mt. Sac is usually considered about equal to a track 5k, timewise. At least that's what we always said when I was in high school about 7 years ago.

how is that possible? The course has three big hills on it. When

It's only 2.91 miles long.
Again, the LR naysayers strike. There are credible sources saying her splits were super fast. Cameras on her virtually the whole time. Prove what you say or retract it.
Look at splits from Rich G's writeup at prepcaltrack.com on the link below:
"For the record, no pun intended, Baxter’s splits at various historical checkpoints were as follows:
Quarter mile: 1:11
Half mile: 2:31
Mile: 5:06
Top of Switchback Hill: 5:49
The Crossover Point: 8:42
2-Mile: 10:45
Base of Reservoir Hill: 12:33
Half mile to go: 13:23
Final eastward wooden post on airstrip: 14:46
Finish line: 16:00
About the only item in question governing her effort was the official time. It was first announced as being estimated at ’15:59 or 16 flat’, with the finish line crew relaying word by walkie talkie minutes later in confirming the performance at 16 minutes even."

^^ That is complete BS
It's not just the hills its the placement of the hills. They are all in the 2nd and 3rd mile after runners are subjected to a scorching fast 1st mile.
Amar Moussa and Sam Pons both ran 14:11 5k's there senior track season. During the Mt Sac invite their senior xc season Mousa ran 14:24 and Pons 14:30. AND they both had tons of people pushing them. BAXTER WON BY 81 SECONDS
There is no way in hell 15:48 5k hs runner Emily Sisson could have run that time at Mt Sac. Baxter would be top 10 if not top 5 at NCAA's this year. I do agree she is a definite hill specialist rather than a track runner.
15:45 if she was solo like today
15:30-35 if she was pushed.
