This was the greatest performance in the history of high school cross country...NOT AN EXAGGERATION!!!!! She broke Amber Trotters record by 16 seconds!!!!!! She beat Hasay's pr by 27 seconds!!!! Widely regarded as the hardest xc course in the nation with 3 huge hills!! OH MY GOD!! This is a fantastic boys time!!! No one can touch her this year! She has McNabb in the bag!!
That was actually INSANE. She won by 1:20 over a VERY good field....she went through the mile in 5:06!! That's crazy. Over a minute faster than last year, when she was the NXN champion.
This girl looks like she's grown and developed a lot in the last two years, but has only gotten faster. Great sign. She gets so much better the longer the distance, so the 6k XC and 5k/10k in college are going to be right up her alley.

She's most certainly gotten lankier. She was SO SO SMOOTH! The announcer was just totally blown away... some of the splits weren't even on the conversion charts :)
I know M. Cain is a super special talent at 800/1500 but at the 5k distance someone is going to have to prove to me that Baxter isn't the best in the country.

Keeping in mind that the first mile is relatively flat, the second mile has two long enormous hills (switchbacks and poop out), and the third mile has the longest hill (reservoir). Very impressive.
She has gotten noticeably taller and has clearly grown some significant cleavage. Good to see this hasn't affected her running.
She has an unbelievable aerobic engine and is definitely the best hill runner in the country. If nationals were on the Mt. Sac course, she'd destroy. MAYBE Cain or Neale can stick with her on the NXN course, but she proved last year that she can handle that course pretty well too....
Sorry if you think I'm over excited but I just witnessed the single greatest high school xc performance in history...well for girls at least. 23000 athletes compete at Mount Sac every year in the 65 years of the meets existence. She just ran the fastest girls time by 16 seconds!!! As a California XC fan, I think this deserves a black page

Nope I was there..it was the regular course! Absolutely i.nsane...this chick is unreal. Oh and did I mention she is a junior and has many more cracks at this course before she graduates

There's almost no place on the course where it's possible to take a shortcut.

i live in an igloo in a remote village 20 miles from the north pole and have never heard of this sport you call "cross country".
that said, I'm 100% sure she cut the course, that time is unbelievable yo!

I saw Lance Armstrong pass something to her just before the start of the race! He was there!
was there, she didn't cut or anything. That race was amazing, but Mt. sac is definately not the hardest xc course like the OP said.
