I went GF for about 6 weeks just to switch it up because I often am getting stomach GI pain after eating most things, and have been incredibly gassy over the past year (very, very irregular for me).
Eating GF generally made my stomach feel decent after eating, and I didn't get as much pain. I'm thinking about going back on that.
To the guy who asked what I was eating, I will try to include everything:
Breakfast: Usually 2 eggs with a little salt and pepper, spinach/green peppers and toast. OR about 1 cup of cereal or oatmeal w/ almond milk, and always a glass of water and 8oz OJ. Sometimes a fruit smoothie (fresh fruit and ice, protein powder, flax seed).
Lunch: Usually leftovers from the night before, or simple things like sandwiches and salads. Most of it reflects dinner choices though. Always have broccoli and carrots with it though, whatever it is, and often an apple or fruit and yogurt.
Dinner: I always cook dinner for myself, and not instant meals, like homecooking type things. Anything from: pastas, steak, burgers, fish, often potatoes and frozen vegetables, sweets potatoes, things like shepherds pie (beef, green beans, potatoes), soups, chilli, tacos etc. I can continue to list if necessary, but I like to think it's mildly diversified, and I prepare and cook most of it myself. Occasionally fast food and pizza type stuff, if Im craving it. But I've done this my whole life.
I typically indulge in some type of desert like a cookie or two, brownie, graham crackers, etc. Something unhealthy is what most would consider. Chocolate or something like it. Not a ton, just a bit. It's what I've always done.
Even with no exercise I find that I am incredibly hungry all throughout the day and do tend to snack quite a bit with pretzels, yogurt, chips, candies, etc. little things laying around. I thought I would be less hungry but I find that I am starving a lot.
