Saugus would have won today.
Saugus would have won today.

When they get #1 runner Fanning back they will be on track for NXN. Saugas is not a concern with or without Fanning.
First I thought you meant the radio, then maybe Floyd Mayweather got knocked out.
I thought I was on a chess blog and someone had just scored his first win against a FIDE Master. Which would have been pretty cool.
I suspect most of us here are too old to be contemplating high school girls. Sorry.

Well its a hot thread right now, so many did care.
Most of the conversation is detailing it's a hot subject or not.

Probably a lot of readers clicked on it because they didn't know what it was about. If they'd known it was about a high school team, they wouldn't have clicked on it.

NXN is raced on a track?
Did you notice that Tatnall's #5 and #6 were 8th graders - both won't be able to run at NXN. Giving them a #5 in the race at 17:25?
I think quite a few teams in the West would have won that race today (Saugus included). But FM will definitely be there at the end.

8th graders are allowed to race at NXN if their state allows it.
I disagree that many teams - from anywhere - would have won that race today. Tatnall ran much better than they did at Great American... teams like Carmel or Xavier Prep, or MAYBE Great Oak? Sure. (not sure about Simi Valley and La Costa Canyon, since they haven't really run anything in the last month)
Who posts high school girls results outside of milestat?
I live in Ohio and am 53 years old and it only took me a second or two to know what the original poster meant. FM is like a brand name in girls cross country.

Just so you know, nobody outside of a small segment of New York runners associates "FM" with a girls high school cross country team.
You've got to be joking. If you're a runner who follows the sport, especially via letsrun, then you know FM.
Small segment? Ever been to a NY State High School XC Meet? I imagine they're the same all over- thousands of spectators and everyone talks about FM.

Fayetteville-Manlius (without Jillian Fanning) upset by Tatnall ..
Why wasn't she there?
Also note that FM's #5 came in ahead of substantially ahead of Tatnall's #5, though Tatnall beat out FM at every other spot 1-4. Also note that FM's 6 AND 7 beat Tatnall's #5.
I will testify. I am from the east coast (not NY though), haven't cared about HS XC since I was in HS myself 5 years ago. Didn't know just from the topic what FM was but after reading the first post realized it was Fayetteville Manlius. AKA a girls HS team that I don't care about.
This was a really surprising result in my opinion. It seems like a cop-out to say FM would have won with their top girl though. The fact was she didn't run, for whatever reason. That said, I would not bet against Fayettville Manlius at NXN under any conditions really. This is one of few teams that trains all season only really caring about NXN, they skip New York State Federations every year. I believe they will win their 7th straight title. Even if you don't care about girl's HS XC, thats an extremely impressive streak.

I thought you were talking about Floyd Mayweather.
Oh no, I don't want to go back to hearing static! FM, no static at all.

Are you seriously comparing college branding, mostly due to the billions made off college football to a high school girls team.
I have read some of the threads but still don't know what FM stands for but do know its a HS team. I'm guessing you are the coach, assistant, parent or athlete (current or former). The posters are right, most don't care.
Is this the coach that says his team jogs every day and never pushes it?
Really? Maybe you're a little out of touch because they're one of the best girls hs xc teams in the country year after year after year. I'm not from New York and I knew who they were talking about without having to click on the thread. I clicked because it's a big deal that a team like Fayettville-Manlius would get taken down mid-season. I know nobody who goes there or went there so I have no connection to the school. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean no one has. Don't be a jerk.
It's settled! No one except people who are pretending give a sh*t about this topic! End of discussion.
