I have nothing against Lolo, but she doesn't seem particularly intelligent and certainly isn't well-educated.

I guarantee that Lolo Jones would beat him in a 110 hurdles race.

She only mentioned all the hate she was getting in one tweet and also in another back to Eric LaGrande himself telling him thnx for not being offended.
Lolo didn't make the story. It's all the douchebags that got offended that made the story.
If she wasn't so indignant about people criticizing her original tweet, people would have moved on.
How was she indignant?

Have you ever heard a sincere apology? This is not it. This is "sorry you're too small to be worthy of my attention." she sounds exasperated and annoyed that people expected something of her. She might be right! That might be unfair! But imagine if her response had been "No, dn't know, I'm sorry guys! haha gotta be more careful #nodisrespect."
now if she had then hashtagged "#abstinencemakesmegrouchy" I would have laughed my butt off

Or imagine if she'd made the effort to write her response in actual English words. I'm not against the occasional abbreviation, but it's like she wants people to think that she's nearly illiterate. How sorry can you be when you can't even bother to type the full word "sorry."

I realize this doesn't make her a crappy human being or anything, but this goes with her general persona and defensiveness that make her unlikeable.
This. And to all of you saying that she's right to dismiss a "contact sport" athlete as beating her in a race, look at her 11.2 100 time. RG III could spank her in any distance in the hurdles and there are NFL linemen that could beat her in the flat 100, not to mention virtually every skill player in the league.
This all belongs in the Official Schadenfreude Thread
This made me cringe. regardless if he's in a wheelchair or not, its weird she would say that to anyone...
Name one NFL lineman who could beat her in a flat 100.

Tempest in a teapot.

Perfectly acceptable response...maybe she should have looked at his avatar, but she didn't, so no big deal. I'm not even necessarily a fan of hers, but she did nothing wrong here.
She didn't apologize after, that's f*cking ridiculous.
Yer the Facking idiot; she apologized immediately upon it being brought to her attention who he was, and he immediately accepted and said "it's al good."
Most people in real life are higher class than you, you might want to deeply consider that.
I think the real crime in this situation is her terrible spelling and grammar. Oh how our American public school system has failed us, yet again!

It's twitter. You are limited to 140 bytes. People are not expected to spell out every single word. Shortcuts and abbreviations are perfectly acceptable when tweeting. If you cannot understand that then I feel sorry for your students.

She has the emotional maturity of a teen. Really needs to mature, at least for her age. Staying off the internet would help.

Her quote was: "get checked for a concussion. clearly u've been hit in the head... cos u arent beating a track athlete. cos u arent beating a track athlete."
Seems like she could have typed complete words if she hadn't needlessly typed her last sentence twice.

Bro, here's the first thing she wrote after the tweet to LeGrand.
"Great I'm gonna get murdered for that tweet. When I had no clue who that dude was.Just responding to any athlete who challenges me to a race."
That isn't an apology. You might want to deeply consider you are a moron. She did release a prepared statement a day later which was probably written by her freaking publicist. Those are so phony.
Flagpole, for actually behaving like a human being for once I can respect you a little bit.
Why would a paralyzed college football player challenge an Olympian to a race? Seriously? That's really weird. And half the avatars on facebook are not actually pictures of the person themselves, but their husband, wife, gf, bf, dog, cat, parent, or someone that's an inspiration to them.
