I've got a marathon coming up and I had one of my last really hard efforts this past week.
Some background:
Averaging about 50 mpw
Longest run has been 18 at 6:50 pace (this was tough, 3 weeks ago)
This past Saturday I ran a 10 mile race in the AM in 61:53. I ran it progressively starting at 6:25 and ending at 5:50. 2 mile warmup and cooldown. Then Saturday night I did warmup, 10x3min hard/2min easy, with the hard being around 5:40 pace and the easy around 7:40 pace. That took a couple days to bounce back from.
This weekend I'm going to do an easy 20-22 at 7:30ish pace, next weekend no further than 10, and then race the following weekend.
Do I have any shot at 2:50?
