There are many different levels of "autism" because autism is not one disorder. It is a bunch of different developmental disorders with different etiologies but somewhat overlapping symptoms jumbled together as one "disorder". The whole concept of the spectrum is bogus. I reiterate, Aspergers disorder is not autism and it hardly qualifies as a disorder at all.

I worked with Autistic kids in my internship during graduate school. There are so many different levels of Autism. I had a few kids playing on the football team, and a few others that needed assistance writing there name. This isn't shocking to me. Comes down to how much a parent enables them to use a label.
