Webb beat such luminaries as AJ Acosta, Christian Hesch, and Matt Tebo. Looking good for 2013!
LOL.
Hehehhe I laught out loud,
At this time, 14:14 really is inconclusive, esp. given the overall slow times & that his wife stated his highest weekly mileage ever (102) not long ago. Then you have the baby undoubtedly preventing sleep. It's not like he ran 14:54.
Vig was one of the worst coaches for Webb....500 meter indoor time trials...really? Webb has only ran well when he does a lot of aerobic work. Sal had him on the right track and at least he is out there trying to build up his base again.

Eventually, EVERYONE is much worse than they used to be.
Not much to get there.

Yes, and some of these folks posting can look at their kids' high school athletics, compare them to Webby, and have the truth of his accomplishments slap them in the face.

"hateful little thing". The damaged psychology behind such a statement is really sad.
Now now, Julia, no need to crawl up inside somebody's butt just because old Al's past his prime.
It's OK, not everyone can grow up and win an Olympic medal. McDonald's is hiring apparently.
P.S. No, I didn't win an Olympic medal either. I help save people's lives. What have you or your husband done that amount to anything?

It's truly odd that so many Americans never seem to outgrow junior high school. Maybe that's because junior high turned out to be the high point of their lives.
No, kid, talking tough and issuing anonymous nasties about someone does not make you sound cool. Just cruel. Like so many other pathetic little bullies.
Hey everyone, here is a thought:
MAYBE HE JUST ENJOYS RUNNING!!!
I just have one question
Was this race done as just sort of a chance to race to finish of his season or is he now racing just to race during his base building (a la Steve scott). I would guess the latter given the volume he's been reported doing but does anyone know?

Which is a good thing.
The bad thing is the knob gobblers who assume unrealistic performances from someone who is past there prime. Webb was a great high school runner and a good time trialer in his prime.. That's it. His time has come and gone. The new Lions are Manzano, Centrowitz, Fernandez.. In the 1500.
The 14:14 is good for a world class miler running on the roads in September. I wouldn't count Webb out as he has 3:46 (American record holder) and 1:43 credentials. I'm hopeful he can emerge in the Spring and run some high quality times on the track.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
