Yet your first post here states emphatically that Rudisha's wr is NOT impressive?
Blake's 9.69 is less significant to me. It's a great run. An awesomely impressive run. But the annals of T&F will highlight Rudisha's performance over that run. They'll also highlight the women's 4x100. And Eaton's performance. And Bolt's OG performance.
Details why you're silly? Because you don't think an OG gold medal and wr performance that makes a powerful claim to the 800m GOAT is significant. And that's just one illustration of your silliness in this thread.
Your adulation of Blake's performance doesn't seem to be as significant to most folks on this thread; for good reason.
I can't think of what effect Blake's run has had on me.
How tall are you?
LOL. This post has confirmed ALL my suspicions about your mentality on this subject.
Who CARES about YOU. This isn't about you. This is about the sport. Remember when i told you to stop thinking on an egocentric plane and start thinking broader?
The most intelligent people see this thread and think of something that affects the sport, the athletes, not themselves. Then there are the ones just like yourself who continually whine so selfishly about their perspective and can't fathom why they need to explain their egotist view. The reason you can't explain is because you're making this too personal. You only see what you want to see and nothing else matters.
You can't think of how Blake's run effects you because it probably doesn't! Even if it doesn't effect YOU, that does not mean you shouldn't consider it. Stating only what effects you is called bias. The best responses eliminate bias as much as possible. But you my friend, have done the complete opposite.
BTW. My first post meant to say his WR was not THAT impressive. After all my posts i never continued down that path or argued that it was not impressive. A left out that only someone like yourself would care to dig up, and take quite literally to heart.
The only reason Blake isn't getting any fanfare here is A) 95% of the posters are distance runners and B) they can't differentiate between impressive and significant
How is it that if you created another thread called "Most Impressive T&F performance of 2012" you would undoubtedly get Rudisha again? Yet these words are not synonyms.
