Looks like my prediction was spot on.
Tirunesh Dibaba certainly could break the world records from everything from 5000m track to 1/2 marathon if she was interested in WR. She makes me sick as she very rarely ever take shots at world records that she is certainly capable of destroying. The lady could be the first female to approach sub 29 minute 10000m on the track if she ever setup attempts and destroy the WR.
Please in 2013 let Meseret Defar destroy Tirunesh's 5000m WR and the 10000m WR and maybe that'll put fuel under Tirunesh to stop sitting and kicking.
I'll talk with Tirunesh and you'll definitely see her going for more world records in 2013. This is not a joke and you'll certainly see her doing more front-running and time trialing in races after our discussion as she aims to please her fans.
word on the street in Addis is that she will go after Paula's
2:15.25 in London in 2013.

To run 2:15 she'd need to be able to run 2 back to back half marathons at the same pace she ran today. So far there's no evidence she has the speed endurance.
Tirunesh ran only to win and certainly was capable of MUCH, MUCH faster then 1:07:35. Did you not read the article which said she ran in 3rd, 4th place much of the race and sprinted the last 400m for the win?!?!?
IAAF article about the race today and Dibaba plans at the 1/2 marathon WR:
But it was not until the final 400 metres – the last lap on the track so familiar for Dibaba from her great victories – when the Ethiopian finally opened a gap on Kiplagat, who did extremely well considering that this race came only six weeks after the Olympic marathon.
Following Dibaba (1:07:35) were Kiplagat (1:07:41), Gelana (1:07:48) and Prokopcuka (1:08:09) rounding out the first four. Britain’s Jo Pavey, who had been in the leading group for the first 10km, also finished inside 70 minutes, taking fifth in 1:09:20.
"I had not specially prepared for this race," said Olympic winner Gelana. "So this was a good result for me because I ran a personal best. Her expectations of Dibaba as a marathoner? "Tirunesh will be a great marathon runner. She may even break the World record one day."
"I was running careful, because this was my first race at this distance. So I waited until in the last mile before I went ahead," Dibaba said. "I expected to win today. And this race really helps me regarding my next step to the marathon."
However she has not yet decided where and when she will run her debut. "I plan to run a Marathon next year. But I don’t know if it will be in spring or in autumn." But after a successful Half Marathon debut Dibaba knows what she will be aiming for when she will run her next race at this distance. "If I will run on a fast course I want to break the world record!" That mark is currently held by Kenyan Mary Keitany with 1:05:50.
I fell I must gloat here. I win the prediction contest. I guessed 67.05. All the fast predictions were just stupid, none of those posters understand the way she runs. She isn't a from runner like Paula, and though it looks like she will have a very good road running career, I doubt she will approach 2.15 for the marathon unless we see an incredible race with several runners together at that pace for 22 miles or more.

There is not a single woman on this planet that can hold Paulas WR pace for 22 miles.
no not a single women but several who could hold 2:15 pace for the marathon
*(if they trained for the marathon for 3 years and remained healthy)
Mary Keitany (did you forget she did that on NYC difficult course)
*Tirunesh Dibaba
*Elvan Abelygesse
*Meseret Defer

No. Simply no. You have no clue.
Mary Keitany held 2:15 pace for like 15 miles or so, then BOOOOOM. What were her splits? Something like
1:08
1:15
She hit the wall and was KO.
Clearly indicates she is capable of 2:15. Lol. Moron.
Mary Keitany went out at sub 2:15 for 20 miles on the much tougher NYC course.
You don't think Tirunesh, Elvan, and Meseret could hold 2:15 pace for 22 miles if they remained healthy and trained for the marathon for 3 years? YES they could.

Typoid. Of cours I meant to wrote front runner, not from runner.

So how long before we see a sub 2.15?

YES they could.
She slowed before the 20 mile mark already. Get your facts together.
And no, they couldn't. If they could, they would.

We won't see sub 2:15 from a woman, unless you plan to live 100 years.
Glad everyone on this board knows your wrong 90% of the time with your opinions that are always negative. It won't take 10 years from todays date for Paula Radcliffe WR to be broken.
Dibaba was absolutely stunning. She looked smoother and more composed the faster she ran. Has there ever been a runner with a smoother gait? So, so slick.
However, in order to get marathon endurance, she will need to do major mileage. Her trademark is her kick. What will 120+mpw do to her kick? Recent discussions regarding male marathon runners suggest it's unlikely there will be another double Olympic 10K / marathon due to the sheer pace needed in the last lap of the 10K. What would make Dibaba different?
