It's not a bad time, but it's not a shockingly great time. I remember when Brian Pope ran 14:55 at age 41 in a very hilly race in Holly Springs, MS, the Killer Kudzu 5K.

Probably a free chicken sandwich once a week for an entire year.
Chick Fil-A did a 5K in my town earlier this year . . . the prize was free food for a year (which I assume actually meant a booklet with something like 50 free sandwich coupons). With Webb's love of fast food . . . watch out.
the top cash award for this race was set at $300. Not bad for 14.5 minutes of work. He was there I saw pictures with him and one of my friends.

This is awesome news. I am glad he didnt quit after the trials and between this news and the 102 mile week, I think we have reason to be optimistic.

$300 to 1st. Not a bad prize purse for a smaller race. Most of the 5ks with cash prize in DC run $300 for 1st, $200 2nd, $100 3rd.

Yes, his tattoo actually means "white power".
What does that have to do with the post you were responding to? Such a person could only dislike nonwhite gay people.
$300 prize money for American record holder in mile - what a joke.
Webb's party is over.

Not really surprising that he ran the race. He's done other local DC races in the past....
Other than a couple of charity 5Ks that he has jogged in 20+ minutes, what has he done? This is the first local road race that I can remember him racing.
I'm really surprised no one has asked yet if after he won the Chick Fil-A-5K did he yell GOBBLE GOBBLE MOTHER F*CKERS
i think egun got it right. christ, webb can't even have fun with you pussies around

guy runs the local 5k because its a huge participation race in the d.c. area, and everybody has been asking him all summer 'hey are you running the chick?'. so he jumps in and runs, and he knows he has to win, because the locals think this is more important than the olympics and has his wife bring his son, and everybody has a good time.
every top runner has a race like that in his/her area. its what we do.
there is a nice picture of his son and him with a cow, which is funny.
whats the problem?
For all the inevitable doubters, Webb looked very relaxed.
imbecile.
example: gun time for a runner is 15:00. he starts in the back of the start line, and it takes him 5 seconds to actually cross the line to start the race. So his chip time is 14:55
Yea, a real f*cking genius.

Take away: Kids got a large cranium and premature balding.
Who the hell is coaching Webb these days with Vig in Princeton?
Come on, guys.
DID HE LOOK RELAXED?

White supremacist groups hate gay people regardless of their ethnicity.
I was there and took photos for the event. Yes, it was in fact Webb running and it was a pretty humid morning. He started a row or two back and paced off the back of the lead pack for the first 2 miles, then took off. Webb looked relaxed through the entire race and it seemed to me that this was more of a workout than anything. His coach, wife, and baby were all there of course and everyone was having a good time. It's great having him out to local races and the crowd always appreciates his presence. Here is the full gallery of photos for everyone to check out:
