And then a 3-some in the showers - perfect day.

How long before we see him racing one of those hand powered recumbant bicycles.
The dude needs to get a Segway and call it a career already, so he can get back to the real business of thanking god he gets to screw Kara.
What about race walking? How do you think AG would as a race walker? I bet he'd be pretty good at race walking.
Oh my god. I had no idea what ElliptiGo was when I saw this thread. Never heard of it. Name seems a bit obvious in hindsight, but when I clicked the link I was expecting it to be something like on of those "color races" which are the new fad. I then I saw that picture and laughed and laughed for at least 5 straight minutes. I'm laughing now just remembering it. Thank you, OP, for brightening my day.

You are quite welcome.
I do have to admit, I'd like to try one just to see what it actually feels like and if it does indeed mimic running. It would have to be at night. In the middle of nowhere. This way no one can actually say they saw me on it.
Didn't he run 7:34 for the 3000 in Monaco? How is that time a "never-was?" Adam Goucher had more "was" in his itty-bitty pinky finger than you've ever had "was" in your entire body. Let the man remain active and healthy for himself and his family, even if he isn't running competitively anymore. What a bloody wanker you are, Koneko.

True, he ran some great times but his childish fit throwing is what has stuck with the public! He unfortunately shot his mouth and finger off one too many times! He also came acroos as a bit of a spoiled brat after the 2008 trials fiasco!
Fool on retard trike!!!!!
And even better at what matters most: a devoted husband and father.

yeah, that guy didn't do anything special? pure waste of talent he was...
No, you and Konehead are both wrong. What has stuck with the majority of the track public is Adam Goucher was not afraid to line up against the best Africans at a dark time in our running history when no one else would. He would take them on at any race, any time, anywhere, and he beat many of them. He had the heart of a lion, inspired many of today's best runners, when all of the other Europeans and Americans were afraid to compete against the African hordes. Also note, his 3K PR was nine seconds behind your hero, Bekele, a much fairer comparison. Adam Goucher's 5K PR was soft, and set on a 90-degree evening. You are so wrong.I've also noticed elite US masters/seniors runners on the Elliptigo bike lately, Pilcher, Magill. Both are smart runners, and are probably ahead of the cross-training curve.

Next we will see him racing a 30K cross-country on this:

It must be hard to flip people off while riding one of these.
Goucher's a never-was, and gimmicky stunts like this are making him look really pathetic. Time to sac up and retire like a man.
Lol 8/10. You really got some suckers there.
So are these guys sponsored by Elliptigo, or what? I've seen a bunch of big names actively promoting it, without ever saying if they're sponsored. It'd be pretty funny if Goucher managed to pick up a sponsorship after retiring.
I was kind of hoping he would go for race walking.
I am glad he is staying healthy at least. It would be pretty depressing to see Adam Goucher get horribly out of shape.
And look at the silver lining. Sooner or later the esteemed Dean Karnazes will have to line up against one Adam Goucher. You would think this would be a Letsrun cynic's fantasy race.
All kidding aside, good on Adam Goucher for lightening up a bit, having some fun, and being active.
Is the eliptigo blue-collar compared to Rupp/Ritz' Alter Gs?

Deer Adam Goucher,

Oh...oh no no no...ummm...oh shit...ummm...
I believe Lauren Fleshman is sponsored by them.
Goucher was a pure stud from HS, through college, and into his professional career. Those stating otherwise are either resentful or dissappointed that it didn't last longer and are just acting out like children in a candy store.
I believe Adam was exposed to an ElliptiGo to maintain his training while he was injured a while back. For runners, this thing really makes sense. I was once a runner (well before letsrun!) and suffered the breakdown 10 years or so back. This is the same breakdown that the majority of this forum will also suffer. At some point, you will have to implement some sort of cross training in order to keep going.
I met the folks at Elliptogo last summer in Park City at a bke dealer event. I demoed the Elliptigo up this hill they had set up. It is the closest thing to running, next to jogging! If I were to go back and do my running career all over, I would add 10 hours of alternative aerobic training in addition to 60-70mi per week of running.
I am also doing the ElliptiGo World Champs, as is Mary Decker. I am pretty sure Adam is not going to make a career out of the Elliptigo events. At some point everyone will understand it is ok to pin on a number without having to be world class. I admire Adam for coming out and starting something new and not waiting til he has gained 30lbs another 5 years down the road.
I am the retuning champ for this event. Last year I thought I was going to lose to the skinny Simon Gutierrez. I am guessing I will be dethroned by the runner that finished the polar opposite of me at the Kinney (now footlocker) nationals. I believe my SD trip was 8 years before his!
Rather than rip the dude apart, pat him on the back for a great career.
