If i may add, the pacing for these post Olympic races has not been good at all. Sure there was Centro's 3:31 and Germans 3:34. But look at the Lausanne 1500m Leo Manzano had a horrible race and Centro to. Im not saying they are bad athletes but they are just in a bad state right now. The Zurich 5000m was a disaster ( Bernard Lagat's was really good) and Galen Rupp had a sub-par performance, considering it was supposed to be this epic American Record attempt with a stacked field; where the broadcasters only showed 5 minutes of the entire race. We obviously know David Rudisha has trouble running in raining conditions (as we all do). But what he did in the Olympics was a miracle considering he had no pace setter. But if Rudisha is to make another world record attempt, it will be very, very hard; considering no one can run 800m world record pace for 600m. Hopefully Brussels is the redeeming meet. That is all, Thanks!

You know what - we all said the same in 2008 about Rashid Ramzi.
And what does association with that scumbag Jama Aden have to do with anything? You guys are farking hilarious. As for "not shying from the circuit" - are you kidding me? There was an 800 in Zurich he could have run, a 1500 in Berlin he could have run and a 1500 in Brussels he could have run - nooooo let's do that mighty meeeting in Zagreb instead.
Absolute comedy.
Only contempt for people like you.
Should he ask you next time for his racing schedule?
I don know if you're just lie or if you're to stupid to look some facts.
are you suggesting Mak...is dirty?!????
Can we get some other results?

eh ?
contempt for what 99+% are asking ??
you must be pretty stoopid to learn nothing from his races
aman, a now 1'42.5 in zurich rain/cold, guy just getting the win over maloofi running a wild 1st lap in stockholm, not get into your numbskull a mid/high-1'42 guy ???
Should he ask you next time for his racing schedule?
no
he couda run any of zurich/berlin/brussels/rieti, the acknowledged big meets
he runs none
I don know if you're just lie or if you're to stupid to look some facts.
idiot
no elite zurich/berlin/brussels/rieti run post games...
Isn't Makhloufi on the start list for Brussels?

I love this line.
Yes, Makhloufi is on the start list for Brussels
54, 56, 60. nice crummy pacing. decent by sherer, but even he should have gone out slower, then he could have gone to 800, and the 2nd pacer could have done a better 3rd lap. typical 1500 "record" attempt
I trained with Jama back in 1987. Not surprised he is now coaching an Olympic Champion. Without a doubt Jama is one of the best middle distance coaches in the world.

You are correct here vento, but why are your grammar so bad?

He is correct? Makhloufi is on the startlist for Brussels. And how can someone be correct while giving answers for someone else?
But maybe you are thinking in the same way than the person I have given a comment to.

Could you elaborate, I would be interested in more about him, both a little on his running and more on his coaching.
No, I am not a troll, I am interested.
He was ass't coach with Cook at George Mason and I trained with Abdi as well. The running was pretty intense with base training including grass 1k repeats and the famous Lorton hill which was 2k long broken up into 800/800/400 efforts. Mobility work and weights were very common along with plyometrics. During track season short fast reps with little recovery. Speed with strides emphasised throughout the year. Progressive runs were brutal often out in 30mins back in 25 and these were done most days when not at the track.
So, Taoufik Makhloufi after London now has 2 good wins (3:32,59 in Zagreb, 1:43,74 in Rieti), a good 2nd place (1:43,71 behind Aman in Stockholm) and this 8th place from Brussels in still respactable time (3:33,42), where he was still in contention with 100m to go.
Which distance runner has done better since the Olympics? We havn't seen anything really spectacular.
By the way, in Wikipedia (engl.) is mentiond that he has competed in the Doha Diamond League meet in 2011, but in the results he isn't listed. Does anybody know what's correct here? Thanks.
