The way Brannen came back after the fall, impressed the heck out of me. He was so ready. I think he would've medalled.
He will run a very fast 1500m soon! He showed he was ready in London despite the fall!
I'm with you. When he and Webb came to Michigan in '01, Webb was the far more hyped athlete having run 3:53 a few months prior. But Nathan had quietly run 1:46/3:59 off of a much lighter training regiment. Always felt that Nathan was the more naturally talented of the two but struggling with injuries (and some bad luck too). His freshman year he had to take a month off after indoor NCAAs with a stress fracture. On six weeks training 9and without running more than 4 miles at a time) he ran 1:46.00 at outdoors NCAAs and finished 5th. That's talent. I think he could run 3:30 or 3:31.

Could just be me, but does this 1000 by NB make anyone else wonder what would've been if he didn't fall in London? After watching him in the 1500 at the Canadian OT (admittedly, it was a very slow pace, but he looked insanely fit), and then seeing him beat Willis here..I don't know..maybe he would've been swallowed up in the 1500 Olympic final like Willis was, but I wouldn't put a top 5 finish past him if he had made the final, and was able to put himself in position for that brutal last 100m. I know it's all hypothetical "shoulda woulda coulda" stuff but I think he would've done well in that final.
Do you think that Brannen and Willis crack up about Webb's crappy career post-UM? Or is Webb still boys with Brannen?
Rimmer is listed as DNF, but you can see him cross the line in about 5th or 6th on that youtube video!

He ran about 3:39 even though he fell. That is insane!
Is it me or does this not seem fast at all? With even splits this is 1:49.2 pace through 800.
I agree. The WR is 2:11.92 though - that is a bit better.
agreed
2'16.5 is poor, but this event isn't run much
for noah, he had 3'43 endurance
to get 2'11.9, his at-worst 800 wouda been with 3'43
1'44.0 -> 2'12.8
1'43.0 -> 2'11.9
1'42.0 -> 2'11.1
now, he ran the wr off a suicidal 49.8 & unrested with a 3'29.2 in his legs from 2/7
if rested, & with more sensible mid-51 start, he couda gone high-2'10/2'11-flat that day
that indicates he was in at worst 1'42.0 shape in rieti
nigel's 1'41.7 has shown the kinda shape i reckon noah was in that day
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
