Not bad, 59ish last lap.

Solid time... looks like he was in the mix too.
However, I'm not sure why you chose to comment on the 59ish last lap.
Quick math tells me he averaged about 60.7 pace (which is really remarkable) for the entire race. To close about 1 second faster than you averaged FOR the race isn't all that impressive, though.
7:35 IS impressive. But his 59 last lap was nothing to write home about.
Jager, though, is boss.
I think he was pointing out there is still room to improve as he didn't kick in that fast. Leaving the potential to run even faster.
...but he left everything on the track with his even race. sounds close to his potential at least for this year
Wonder what he could run for the 1500 and 5000 now. I'd guess around 3:35ish and 13:00.

The dude really is pretty amazing.
I'd guess 3:33-3:35 for 1500m, and probably 13:10ish for 5k.
the reason you have no kick is because you expend most of your energy on first 6.5 laps...not because you didn't "kick hard enough". so 7'35 is probably about as fast as he can go now. now if he ran 7'35 closing in 54, you might be able to say "if he would have more evenly distributed his energy during the course of the race he could have finished with a faster time". regardless, good run Jager!!!!

Honestly mate?
Makes him seventh fastest American all time behind Lagat, Kennedy, Maree, Solinsky, Goucher, and Tegenkamp. Pretty good company.

Indeed. You should count Ritz and Webb's 8:11s in the 2 mile in there, too.
and Rupp

Rupp's 8:09i is pretty good too.

I think that Rupp's PR is around 7:42. Obviously he can go faster. And probably he has gone faster en route. But I can't find any official time for him at 3000 faster than 7:42.
The last time Rupp ran an open 3k was when the race when Lagat ran 7:29 and Solinsky 7:34? Rupp ran like 7:47 that race but apparently he like tore something in his quad or something en route
Jager is amazing (to get back on topic)
I'm calling 7:33 for his next 3k (provided pacing is good)
Wow that's pretty good. 18 seconds under the WR.
?

Interview says the aim is to do a couple of 1500s (not determined where) and then a second 300 in Reiti. He looked tired coming down the finishing straight, in part because he had pushed a bit earlier in the lap (impression here).
I predicted 7:35.12 in that other thread...

I think he's referring to the steeple WR, trying to make a joke
