man f*ck schumacher, the kid is hot let him race
Sad for German.
schumacher = dave smith
He got third at US nationals 5000 right acts graduating over two years ago, ran 13:16 a year and a half ago (hasnt improved his PR since then), ran 3:37 a year Nd a half ago (hasn't come close to that since), ran 7:44 indoor beating Jäger this winter and now, after 6 months of training and sharpening, he runs the same time in a fast race, 9 seconds behind Jäger. I think he's an awesome runner for sure, I'm just wondering why a guy who should be improving and is apparently way fitter than he used to be (according to interviews with him, and Jagers indicating he and Bumbi a should expect to run the same time) hasn't set a PR in nearly two years. Should be entering his prime, great training partner, no injuries...what's the deal? Already had a very successful career for sure, I'm just currious
Bumbi was disappointed in his DN Galan run; he developed a head cold on his way over to Europe. Hopes for better results.
That's a shame he's disappointed. I hope he's not beating himself up too much. 7:44 in his first Diamond League race, especially with a head cold, isn't too bad. Everyone's rooting for you man! I bet his next race is killer.

Too bad to miss out on an opportunity to run fast in a Diamond League Race like this. Hopefully he'll be smart and let himself get over the cold and not be in a mental funk for the next race.
I'm guessing Bumbi will be trying for a good 5000 - maybe in Brussels. Hopefully Jager will be "allowed" to race as well.
