Phil Jacksin has never coached Kirani Jones. What are you on?

Lebron James looked awesome today winning that gold medal. He's going to blow away Michael Jordan's record one day.
I heard Kevin James drafted Randy Moss fairly early in his fantasy draft

I was just really excited. Kirani James is one of my favorite track athletes. He's such an amazing talent and he loves to win. I think he's the first non-american to go sub 44 as well. At only about 20 years old he's already done so much.
World Youth Silver Medal in the 400 at 14
World Junior Silver Medal in the 400 at 15
World Youth Champion in the 200 and 400 at 16
World Junior Champ in the 400 at 17
World Champ in the 400 at 18
Olympic Champ in the 400 at 19 and the first non-american sub 44.
Just incredible. We're looking at the Usain Bolt of the 400 meters
Actually, Usain Bolt might end up being the Usain Bolt of the 400m. I think he plans to start taking on the 400 next season. Should be some pretty epic future showdowns between Bolt and James.
so since kirani is a teen prodigy as it was claimed bolt was hence his times at 100/200M. I soon expect to see Kirani running sub 43s. Heck since he's a prodigy i expect him to decimate the 400M WR and put it at 42.58.
he's cool
No American in the final!
When was the last time that happened?
The race was the Caribbean versus a Belgium family!
Just think...his peak is almost a decade away. James could, barring major disasters, three-peat as 400 champ at the Olympics.
This is, of course, dependent upon Bolt's future distance of choice and, if it's the 400, whether he's as good at the quarter as he is at the 100 and 200.
Should be interesting to see no matter how it plays out.

Hahahahahaha comment of the year!
"..and he loves to win"
WTF, who doesn't?!
From personal experience, absolutely not.
Kirani is an exceptional person as well as an outstanding runner. Before he went pro last year, he gave his SEC championship medal to a fellow runner on the team whose house was destroyed by the tornado that came through Tuscaloosa in April. He's going to do some amazing things on and off the track. When so many runners are giving track and field a bad name these days, Kirani couldn't be a better ambassador for the sport.
Um ... ever hear of Jeremy Wariner?
lets keep this thread "super hot on letsrun"

Yes, keep it that way as long as possible. I get a big ego boost when I make popular threads.
Is this guy any relation to LeBron James?
The 2012 Olympics will always be great in my view if only because of the men's 10,000 race. With that said, the biggest disappointment thusfar for our team has to be the absence of any American athlete in the men's 400 meters. Historically, we have owned this event almost as much as the Kenyans have owned the steeplechase. Two Belgian athletes in the final and no Americans? Impossible !
But I will say this, and I stand by it emphatically no matter what the rest of these contributors say under the cloak of anonymity: Kirani James will never, ever, set the record Michael Dukakis set in the electoral college when he ran for President, and that goes regardless of whether Kirani James was born in Hawaii, Kenya, or any place else. Thank you.
James and Dos Santos are both so young and so talented. I hope the competition between these two becomes one of the great rivalries of the next decade. With those two driving each other, imagine where the records could go

There was only one Santos, are you sure you're not thinking of Dos Borlees?

Dude, seriously? Everyone knew what he meant. Clearly talking about most points in a playoff game.
You win the thread!

I was actually thinking of dos Equis after that American performance in the 400m!
Everyone shows promise in the 400m then fades away, even Johnson spent he best years hurt and barely making it to the starting line of the finals during his Olympic years.
