Great job tonight coming off a very limited buildup and surgery
Justin Gatlin laughs at this pathetic thread.
until the ioc take it back and ban him again - for life this time
He ran well with all the problems he's had. Pity he missed out on a medal
I actually thought he was 3rd, so disappointed that he didn't come 3rd, too bad he didn't lean.
I do hope he wins a gold medal in the 4x100 though
that performance was Pre-esque
Tyson Gay is the man!
I was rooting for Gay but Usain Bolt is a beast. For a moment, he was in great position for a medal (not gold) but just lost it.
Tyson is a great athlete. I wonder what he could have done had he not been injured.
Thanks for everything you've done, Tyson.
Wow...his medal count is on "zero" right now.
And watch out the relays if Doc Patton is entered.

I was hoping he might be all the way back, but 9.80 is GREAT for somebody that didn't start training on the track until April.
Just hope he can avoid being the answer to the trivia question:
"Who is the best athlete never to win an Olympic medal."
NO DOC (I hope).
Tyson Gay, without a doubt, is the classiest guy in T&F. I have nothing but respect for him and hope he doesn't quit or retire. Hope his injuries heal fully so he can come blazing back.

I was so wishing and cheering Gay on for this final as I believe he deserves it the most. But that isn't the way racing works. I just hope he can find some sort of way to use this race as a positive influence on later training. I'd be very sad if he said he was retiring after these Games.

Agreed. The way he handles himself makes it difficult to not root for him. Even when he was winning major championships, he never showboated or acted disrespectful to his opponents. Good dude.
If the USA 4x100 can get the stick around the track clean, they will get at least silver. I'm sure that would make Tyson happy, and every other track fan in the USA. He deserves some kind of hardware out of these games.
We Jamaicans love and respect Tyson Gay. Everyone was like if not Asafa, please let it be Gay for Bronze. The gods messed up again....arggghhhhh
Tyson Gay is one of the most honorable men running today. I sincerely hopes he has more years in him. I've never seen a guy so unchanged by his status. He was absolutely THE MAN after Osaka, and he was still as classy as ever. You always know by the way competitors treat a guy, and Gay gets RESPECT. All the best to him!!
