Yeah, but in geological time, this is nothing.

Gatlin has always been uber talented. He never needed drugs, and lost half a decade of his career for doing them. As long as he's clean now, I'm glad to have him in the mix again. He's one of the most exciting sprinters out there. He beat Gay fair and square.
Tyson Gay was Robbed!!!

If somebody got out of jail after serving their time, would you still pick on him also?
like letting a child molester inside a kindergarden? He's untrustworthy and shouldn't be near a track
Wow that was the dumbest comment I've seen in two days. Stay hot.
Why are you guys raggin' on Justin MF Gatlin? The fastest man in the USA.
I get so frustrated with Gatlin because he represents everything that is wrong with the USA. Arrogant and most likely takes shortcuts/cheats in order to try to get ahead. I still don't buy his BS stories on blaming his doping on others. He runs PRs at a young age, then comes back, and in less than three seasons is running at the level of his PRs again? Right............
I get even more frustrated because the guy he is barely beating right now is everything that is RIGHT with the USA and this other man has the exact attitude that made us great as a country to begin with. Perseverance, he never complains or blames his circumstances, and he always strives to be the best. This man is Tyson Gay.
I just can't stand that Gatlin is basically the face of US sprinting once more.. over the person who I believe deserves to be the best more than almost anyone out there (Tyson).
With that said, I'm not saying he shouldn't have been allowed to run. I just dislike the fact that someone with his history and personality was victorious over other sprinters who have most likely been hard-working, honest athletes for their entire lives.

I would rather have seen Gay get the medal, but it's his own fault that he didn't beat Gatlin.
the improvements he made while he was doping didnt just disappear. Thats what bugs me the most, and why dopers shouldnt get 2nd chances.
Maybe i'm wrong and the benefits do go away at some point, but if I took EPO for a few years without getting tested, and then went off it, I feel like i'd have some career lasting improvements.
I actually think Gatlin was innocent. I don't know why. Of all the drug busts in track I think Butch Reynolds and Justin Gatlin were innocent. I think the rest are guilty as hell like Merritt. He is a scumbag.
I am glad Gatlin won a medal. He is clutch. Didn't he win NCAAs as a freshman? I think he did, that is amazing.
He's not using now, just like Salazar is no longer coaching a drug cheat.
The fact that a clean Gatlin and a clean Dwain Chambers now run as fast as they did when using drugs only proves three things:
• Drugs don't really help performance.
• Bolt & Blake are also clean, or at least their performances aren't helped by drugs.
• Earth is flat.
Agreed. I have been unable to cheer for a USA sprinter for many years. Arrogant jerks for the most.
Can't quite recall if it was the 2004 olympics but I remember watching Justin Gatlin running side by side with another prominent US athlete. This was before he got busted. He and his teammate were winning the race slowed up for each other and toying with the rest of the field. They were looking across at each other and may have even slapped hands. It was a gross display of arrogance and even more so knowing he was doped.
I'm glad Bolt left no doubt in Gatlin's mind that he is not in his league. Bolt was still widening a sizeable gap as they crossed the finish line. All that trash talking got shut up.

Don't forget Tyson has his own history of cheating. Its not in regards to performance opportunities but he did have his Junior College Coach forge documents for him that allowed him to attend a 4 year university. Where would he be today had he not cheated by having someone else take that math class for him? I bet you wouldn't be cheering him on.
Have a source on this? I've been a fan of his for a while and this is the first I've heard of this cheating story.
He just dropped a 19.68 at 32. Of course he is clean....

LOL!
Lemaitre might well be the "cleanest" top sprinter around as the two that beat him to the line scream PED's with build and performance in the case of Gatlin.
