Wheating last qualifier.
In post race interview Willis just said he deliberately boxed in Kenyan so he would have to run way outside around crowd on last lap. He said this was strategy to try to eliminate one Kenyan from advancing. Cagey!
You saw what happened. Kenyan got tripped up in traffic while trying to get free of crowd.
Poor Spaniards, first non-qualifiers in each heat!
Forgot to watch out for O'Lionard. Nearly DFL. Shoulda spent less time tweeting.
Nick Willis just said, they had a plan to get the Kenyan out, interesting.
looked like the Kenyan tripped over his own foot. Oh Well.

Wow. Amazing if true.
I don't know what the others were looking at but Centro did not run a good tactical race.
Willis did.
Centro had to run wide the whole last lap and struggled to gain 5th place.
I think they are going to let him in... IAAF/IOC favors
Kenyans, plus we really should not celebrate his misfortune, Karma is a bitch (we have the semi-finals coming up) and we do not want something to happen to our people, or imagine if something like that happened to Rupp

Only if he has a third foot that was made in Germany.

Holy crap, Centro in, Wheating maybe in??? Nixon Chepseba out!
Chepseba stumbled at the start of the last lap, struggled briefly then came back, too late to qualify. My heart goes out to him, he was controlling the race up to that point.
Willis spelled it out exactly and did it deliberately. That's fine, but doubtful it would've worked so beautifully if it wasn't for some seriously rotten luck for Chepseba.
overall, the americans did not look so good in those heats

Sure he did. First couple laps good position. Got pushed out a little on the stretch but snuck right back in before the turn. Went outside to get position on the final stretch like he should have and kicked it in. Controlled everything he could just right.
Poor Chepseba. Such bad luck. Makes the race more interesting for other countries, I guess.

Is he?
I'd be surprised if any american makes the final - that was not impressive

They better let Nixon in. 3rd fastest time in the world has to get in!
That's not the way it works.
makes asbel's task tougher as nixon couda taken some pace for big-2 in final
this is going to be slow final & much more open, albeit asbel is probably in high-1'42 shape currently, so shoud still win
