What does this mean for Stanford? Do you guys think Kentucky will become a major player now?

Stanford TF/XC and UCLA TF/XC are cleaning house before the Fall quarter begins. The alumni at both schools are livid at the success of USC TC/XC with 12 athletes in London. There's nothing worse than being baited by South Central Los Angelenos. At Stanford, Pattie Sue and Toby are not being purged, but the Jason, Edrick, etc. and even associated non-coaching staff were purged.
More importantly, where does Chris Derrick end up professionally? In a previous thread on here, Chris said he was considering staying in Cali or going up to Oregon..
Not a Stanford Weenie wrote:

USC...XC? wtf?
XC at USC is basically a club team for Title IX points. Any Pac-12 school that managed to finished behind USC in XC should be grounds for the immediate firing of the coaching staff responsible for same.
Jason dunn is a good solid coach but stanford made him. He did not make stanford. I think kentucky will improve but I doubt tey will be top 10 xc in the next 4 years.
Kentucky made all their points for years off weights, jumps and sprints in that one year.
Will never be a distance or even MD hot bed.
No Way! I didn't believe all the other threads on the subject and its further discussion on the 2012 Coaching Jobs thread, so why should I believe it now.

Here's the official press release from Kentucky:

My sources say Chris Derrick will be training with Schumachers group
Would create a good region in XC:
Kentucky
Louisville
Eastern & Western Kentucky
NC State
Virginia Tech
Virginia
William & Mary
UNC
Duke

Derrick is Mr. Moderation, Schumacher's group seems to be more Operation Ground and Pound. Not sure if that's the best fit.
Jerry has always been a man of restraint, he has them hold back in every workout.
I'm pretty sure just a few years ago it WAS a MD hot bed... They have attracted top distance guys in the past, and will in the future. You are wrong on this one...Y

Any word on where Puskedra will end up training? Seems if he stays in Oregon, he would make a good training partner for Derrick, actually any of the Oregon groups would, OTC Elite as well, having Chelenga.
John Richardson has been out of school a while now and was their best guy in last 7 years, he ran under 4:00 ONCE, 7:59 once and under 1:50 once or twice
MacGregor transferred
Sharif Webb was a very solid half miler.
But really? other than Zagorski Q'ing for REgions? That is about it.
There was Morgan and Freeman, but they were a while ago too.
I was referring to 2001-2004 when they had a bunch of dudes. They had the talent then and can get it again. The fact that those guys under performed is probably due to coaching, not attracting talent.
My point was that the school has what it needs to be very good. The direction was what was lacking. I'd be surprised if in 4 years they are not a top 10 team in womens and mens cross country.
It is a lot harder than the letsrun dorks think to have both men and women in the top 10 at the ncaa xc meet. Need proof? Tell me how many programs pulled that off in 2011?
Furthering the difficulty is the fact that Jason Dunn will not control the scholarship money and they're just getting started with the program and I am sure Edrick and the rest of the assistants will be fighting for whatever little amounts open a year.
That being said, I am sure there is a ton of easy and fake monies available (same as Stanford, but Stanford is probably more in line of real academic monies as opposed to kentucky/SEC nonsense).
You are right, men OR women.
What is Kentucky/SEC nonsense?
Kentucky is getting a first class coach for sure. The place the program is at right now is insignificant. I think coach Dunn will stay committed to KY for 3 to 5 years and then you will see one of the best programs in the country.
