Pressure? What pressure.
"gonna have to deliver something significant very soon"? Why? For your own emotional satisfaction?
The best thing for German's running career is to do everything he can to get healthy and stay healthy long enough for 18 months of mostly uninterrupted training with some fellow studs. Delivering something significant soon is utterly irrelevant.

Well now "Lonely Student" looks like "18 months" was a little long there in YOUR DUMB ASS PLAN for German!
THE OFFICIAL ARTICLE STATES:
"Fernandez will travel to Europe after the Olympics. He'll start a short track campaign with a 1500 in Belgium, and hopes to run the 3000 at the always-fast Rieti meet in Italy on Sept. 9"
Now what about the other 3 big names from that year ?
Chris Derrick ?
Colby Lowe ?
Luke Puskedra ?
where do they end up ?
I thought Fernandez was a better fit in Salazar group do to the injury issues and the resources the can quickly get to.
Puskedra would be good for Dathan as far as Marathon training ? he did run 60:30 for first Half.
Colby ? Become a long term XC guy/ half and marathon? top 10 Xc almost every year but he was never able to go blow something up because it was always running on team tactics. Would like to see him run Post Collegiate maybe go down to Austin and train with the Rogue crew and have Scotty Mac and Him train together ?
Chris Derrick ? - Schumacher/Salazar group makes the makes senses - 10k guys Galen,Farah,Dathan in Salazar or Teg/Solinsky/Lomong/Bumbi. Both would be great groups to train with.
Derrick's prolly gunna move to Kentucky with Dunn and take his 5th year there.
Lowe is with Hanson's. Announced that a ways back.
A kid who grows up in Naperville, IL, and then goes to Stanford--inconceivable that he goes to live in Lexington, KY. And with whom would he run down there?

Derrick to Mammoth with Mahon.
Again--with whom would he run?

Puskedra has only hinted at expecting what I would to assume to be a shipment of clothes/shoes, no mention yet of his sponsor. He is running Falmouth in a couple weeks, so guess we will see then.
Incidentally, Puskedra ran 61:36, which is still excellent.
