what can you do on your 17th birthday that you can't do at 16 years, 364 days? all i've come up with so far is:
get your driver's license
see an R movie
enlist in the military
buy a beer in puerto rico
be tried as an adult
drop out of school
anything you can come up with would be helpful, especially if it's specific to nj. thanks.
not a running question, but people on this board know a lot of random facts

See an "NC-17" movie. (You could have seen an "R" movie during the past seventeen years if you had been accompanied by an "adult". Too bad you didn't know the rules. You missed some good movies.)

Oops! According to the Motion Picture Association of America, "NC-17" means "NO ONE 17 AND UNDER ADMITTED." You may have to wait another year on that. In the meantime, however, it sounds as though you've come up with an impressive list of ways in which you can now really screw up your life without assistance from parent or guardian.

you can be tried as an adult anytime, as long as the asst, law school recent grad ,d.a. feels like it

this is just as a joke for a birthday card for a friend on her 17th birthday, don't take it seriously
-
Man, you know what you should write? In one year, you'll be able to get it on with me (legally). That is of course if shes hot.
-
And then in 1 year you can buy cigarettes for us to smoke afterwards....
-
You can enlist in the military with your parents' permission.
