Wasn't Ian Stewart not an official Rolling Stone because he was too ugly?

As some have already noted this meet might have thought it didnt need Symmonds and Jones and the other US distance guys. But it certainly needed something. The results were subpar for DL meet and embarrassing compared to the Paris meet.

I have a feeling this might of been posted earlier, but I didn't read through all the comments, so I apologize if I'm reiterating a previous post.
Ian Stewart set up that DL meet to show off the brits that are on the Olympic team. I'm assuming ritz only got in bc of farah and the fact he won't be running another sub 13 anytime soon.

Best post i've seen in a while. LOL

Has any of Ian's supporters ever met the "man"? He is a small prick in the Simon Cowell mold. An elitist @sshole who supports only agents who think like he does. Check who is in the meet and draw your own conclusions.
For a former athlete to try to hurt today's athletes who stand out is just as repulsive as when Mark Nenow did the same thing with athletes when he was with Nike.

Well said. His beef with Nick is wife ( Hightower ) led , she knows she has no power with US meet directors , easy to get the hubby to roll over. Ian makes a poor decision as the sponsorship controversy would bring press and interest in the plight of athletes looking for added sponsorship. He looses focus that it's about the athletes , they make the event's he makes his money from.
BTW , Nenow had a very short time in Nike promo , he went into product. Zero impact on Nike athletes as a whole.
If it's true that Ian barred him...
Well f--- him and Hightower. That would really piss me off.

Brojos are probably not covering it for fear of backlash from sponsors and Ian Stewart's cronies. Plus they'll get banned from covering that shite of a meet @ Crystal palace.
I wouldn't say that's the case but it's massively hypocritical if it is.
It's a private meet, the directors can invite anyone they want and bar anyone they want.
I thought all you conservatives understood free market concepts like this.

They are free to bar anyone they want. We are free to do whatever we want in response within bounds of the law. I don't question their right to bar Nick. That doesn't mean I don't have an opinion about the decision or that I can't try to do something about it.
The free market works both ways. The meet organizers may do as they wish within the law. We may respond however we with within the law.
Yes, we understand, fool. We're complaining because it's fvcked up, not because it's illegal.

People are free to say what they want and do what they want. That doesn't mean that they are free from consequences of those words and actions.
This is not just about a meet director barring someone from his meets. This is about Stephanie Hightower calling the shots and from behind the scenes. She is president of USATF and does everything in her power to destroy the sport. This is bully politics from someone who never should have been in the position in the first place.
It happens time after time. When someone gets a position of power that they don't deserve, they abuse that power to carry out personal vendettas.
Two us top tier athletes banned from a meet and no mainstream media coverage. I am not surprised but it would b great if nytimes or latimes or news week or huff post could do a blurb about it. I say people should start contacting them (via there emails listed on their websites). If the respOnse is big enough they will have to print something.
It's called defamation of character.

It's akin to the Toronto Blue Jays banning ARod from playing in Toronto.

Exactly!
Can someone tell me if Nick was originally entered and then told at the last minute that he wasn't allowed run?
It's a retarded decision either way but if they waited until the last minute to really f*ck up his schedule then that's beyond ignorant.
Sack the both of them. Hightower's term is up in December -- toss her and her cronies out. And Stewart's only wielding supreme executive power because some watery tart threw a sword at him. Time for both to go!!!!
Hmmm, it's a stupid process that needs to be changed. A governing body should have policies in place for athletes to compete at meets. It shouldn't be political and judgemental. If you can run fast enough you are in. This would be like a basketball team who is playing on their home court telling the other teams best player he is a liability and can't play. You can't have individual power hungry morons running around doing whatever they want.
On the subject of Nick and Lolo. It doesn't matter whether you like them or not. They are two of the most popular people in the sport and attract people to watch it. This in turn makes the sport more popular. I don't agree with all of the things they do but they make a boring sport to watch on television more interesting and to say they aren't good enough to compete is a joke.
If you don't think they should be allowed to run you are a moron. This is what they do for a living.
Grow up. "not invited " does not equal "barred"
This is a total non-story
