A brief analysis of Geneseo's best runners-
Lee Berube-9:07 in high school, improved to 14:23. Great talent in high school, but has certainly improved.
Eddie Novara-10:40-10:50 (not sure exactly) 3200m runner in high school, now 2 time All-American (one at Fredonia), 30:55 10k
Mark Streb-4:17 miler in high school, improved to 4:11.
Tom Clark- 4:24/9:30 runner in high school, now has ran 3:53 1500m and 14:47 5k.
Chris Carter-1:57 in high school, now 1:54.
AJ Corcoran-4:23/9:37 in high school. 15:18 5k and 32:21 10k. Smallest improvement so far, but 5k is slightly better than 3200m.
Chris Mateer-4:39 miler, 9:39 3200m, now 8:41 3k and 31:26 10k.
Ben Peterson-4:30 miler/10:00 3200m, now 3:58 1500m.
Kevin Bronson-1:54/4:24 in high school, now 1:54 and 4:20. Small improvement in mile time and steady performer in the 800m.
I could keep going, but I think this proves enough. Almost to the man, Geneseo improves their runners, despite a lot of them being talented incoming freshmen. No one denies their good recruits, but there is not a single who has gone from the equivalent of 14:20 to 15:00 on the team.

Alright I didn't want to get too personal with everything but since you brought it up...
Lee Berube 9:07=14:37 highschooler, now senior year of college 14:23 best time (which was december 4th not exactly a strong argument for geneseo not bombing late)
so 14 seconds of improvement over his career at Geneseo 14 seconds is what a FRESHMAN should get at the very least...what did he run his freshman year anyway? Oh yeah 15:03...nice
Eddie Novara 4:30 miler in hs (nice try with the 10:50 crap)...All American and 15:06 5k BEFORE transferring to geneseo..barely any improvements since then
Mark Streb a 4:01 1500 guy as a JUNIOR in hs, gets down to 4:11 in the mile over his entire career at Geneseo...you're basically making my argument for me here...thats about a 7 second improvement over 5 years he should be making that 7 second improvement in 1 year at least hell I've seen guys make close to that much of an improvement from race to race!
Tom Clark
4:23 mile in hs 3:53 1500 in college is an average improvement 15:56 5k in hs XC is fast though
Chris Carter
1:57 to 1:54.5 wow 2.5 seconds faster amazing improvement good call
AJ Corcoran
4:23=31:47,15:03 current college bests 32:21 and 15:18 you have to feel a little bad for the kids there at this point
And these are the best guys you have to bring to the table? I cant imagine how many guys didn't "improve" that you aren't talking about.
