I think all three can make the finals like 2009.
I feel good about two making it.

I have my doubts. Centro possibly if he is on.
Why do people insist on underestimating Centro. I hate to have to say it again but Centro is The Man. Count on him in the final. Solid chance of a medal.
Centro WILL win gold at WC or OG sometime in the next five years.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but is it not impressive that there are 4 former Oregon athletes who not only are going to the olympics here, but whom have shots at a medals. I'm sure most would say that wheating is lease likely to medal, and he is a 3:30 guy!

Your pretty stupid. Manzano always chokes at the WC or OG. Wearing is a joke and Centro had the slowest medalling time ever at the WC. Please take off your duck goggles.
Thanks
Given Manzano's tendency to be hot/cold/hot/cold, one can only hope that he drops a 4:10 stinker at Monaco right before the games.
I think it would be suicide for anyone in the final to try to run away from Kiplagat and Kiprop. If it turns into a very tactical affair and Manzano is "feeling it", if he stays in contact he can medal or even win.
Leo could win any race if he's fit and puts it together. Like his mile win in England last summer.
Centro--barring injury, he's going to be a few notches up in fitness by the games. That puts him in the final with a chance at a medal.
Wheating, seems to need more fitness and race smarts, but he's obviously capable of running really fast. Hard to see him in the final, but would not be surprised.
Did anyone here even watch that final?! Manzano killed it, and looked great doing so. He has exactly the kind of finishing speed needed to make it through some of the strategic earlier rounds, and I think he can really surprise some people come finals time. The man is a machine the last 100 meters

Texas was really pushing hard for that win. Centro looked much more relaxed and in control. I don't think he really cared whether he won or not as long as he was solidly in the top 3. I don't expect Texas to contend in the OG final and that's a big if he makes it through.
Centro is always so smooth at any pace, and is a master tacticion. His fitness will improve a bit leading up to the Olympics, but he will put himself in the right spots. If this guy doesn't get into the final I will be shocked.
Leo is on and off, but has a hell of a kick so if he can manage to be tactically smart like in finals at the trials he can kick with the big boys to get himself in.
I don't think Wheating will be able to get into finals, he has run fast times but so has everyone else who makes it to the Olympics in the 15. Centro and Manzano are much more surgical in their tactics and manage to be better at responding to things happening throughout the race. They are just on another level at this point.
