OSAGA KT26 sole revival

Hi all,

I am the sport footwear senior designer / product manager for Dunlop/Slazenger footwear in Australia.

We have just redeveloped the KT26 training shoe from the late 1970s. In Australia it what released by Dunlop, initially as the Dunlop OSAGA KT26, then simply known as the DUNLOP KT26.

It's been on sale since 1978 & sold more than 6 million pairs to date.

About 2 years ago I noticed that the retail days were numbered for this iconic running shoe unless it was re-tuned to again be the best value & super comfortable sport sneaker.

So after a crazy year of researching, prototyping, extensive testing (I was running most work days testing designs)& development, the new KT26 range hits Australian stores from July 2012!!!!!

The new design keeps the DNA but uses clever modern construction/materials & a new take on the cantilever technology. So much so, I have been in consultation with the original designer (Jerry) & Director (Jim) of Dunlop footwear (70s-90s) to make sure it stayed as true to the original late 70's design as possible.

i just google-searched 'kt26' and found this site/page. super cool that you're trying to revive the style again(still?). the reason i searched is because around 1980, i was a kt26 user and loved the sensation the cantilever-wedged sole gave when running or even walking.

i'm not sure if it's of any interest thereabouts(i'm in canada), or anywhere, but i have an osaga kt26 brochure/pamphlet from bitd! having been bit of a pack rat, even from a young age, i did 'save' what i thought was cool stuff and i've unearthed all such ephemera i've had squirreled away and i've started flogging it on auction sites and such, with surprising/good results. just wondered if you were at all interested in scans of the brochure before it goes to a collector? no ground-breaking or secret/obscure information on it, just an 'introducing the kt26' promotion and explanation for the design. how many of these can still be in existence? have a good one! ;o)
