Rogers never complained nor should she. She gave her best effort and it was a big PR. Gutty effort by Natosha. Bright future for her.

Great future for both Rogers and Meier, who has gotten in very little training this year, and was hurt the year before.

Cry me a river. Spoiled college brats. Maybe Debby and Natosha should have done something more in the race to go for that A standard....Like working TOGETHER on the pace. Lisa and Shalane did and it worked out perfectly for them. One falls and flops around on the ground, the other starts some sprint session mid-race, what does that accomplish? NOt a trip to London. When you are SHALANE FLANAGAN, you can do no wrong. Perhaps these kiddies should take some notes from a real professional.
Spoiled brat, Rogers ran the race on her own. She did not have her "Big Sister" there to hold her hand in the 10k. Now lets take a look at Lisa "needs Shalane to hold her hand" Uhl. She could not make it to the Olympics on her own she needed Shalane to make the race exactly what she needed so she could have a chance to make the Olympics. Guess what Shalane will not be in the 10k in London so have fun in a race that is not paced exactly for you. Baby Lisa is going to have to cross the scary road that will be the Olympics 10k without her older sister holding her hand the whole way.
Here's the bad part if Shalane had gotten 3rd none of this would matter, which was what a matter of less than a half a second. Rogers was able to stick with Shalane and Amy unlike Uhl but now Uhl and that Bawcon get to go. Spoiled Brat stop just making arguments to go against original poster.
I'd put good money on Uhl finishing damn close to the top even without Shalane in the field.
Interesting photo (scroll most of the way down) shows the moment of Rogers' fall with Shalane in the lead and Uhl playing catch-up.

Booh f'ing Hoo. If she didn't like it, she could have taken it out at the 'A' standard and kept it there.
Rupp and Ritz used team tactics to keep the pace quick enough. Part of the game.
Um pretty sure 'Big Sis' Shalane simply took the lead and slowed the pace down for what maybe a lap or 2 so Lisa could tie her shoe and then proceed to catch back up. Huge props to Rogers, watched her interview post race, great girl. Maier, however...better luck in the 5000m. Maybe she can pace that race and actually finish top 3

You don't need to "scroll most of the way down"...

Observate this...

Thought about dropping out of the race because she felt sorry for herself because she knew she couldn't run the A standard. Maier, 2x runner up, with the heart of a champion....
Wrong! if she could have run the "A" standard she would have. She knew she needed it right? so she should have went out on her own and forced the pace but she didn't...Just the way it is--you cannot place blame on anyone except the athlete who did not achieve the standard!
So, the US is sending somebody to the Olympics who can't tie a knot that will stay tied for ten minutes.

+1
There he goes again - pac12fan being an obnoxious jackass as usual. When will Oregon win an outdoor championship? You mean they don't win it every year with all their advantages?
Why is it Nike...I mean Oregon can't win an outdoor championship with all that help? Kind of sad. Texas A&M will continue to excel with honest coaches, hardworking athletes, and aggie pride. WHOOP!

She had absolutely no idea she could run the A. Her 5K PR doubled wouldn't have gotten it. Unbeknownst to her she had the A in her. If Lisa had tied her shoe better, then Natosha might have been running for the team on the last lap.
Normally, we would all be cheering for the underdog who overachieved by an unthinkable margin, not bitching about her not pushing at an A standard. Lisa Uhl was really only racing Cherono and didn't need Flanagan's unnecessary tactics that did nothing but put a 32 year old on the team at the expense of a suddenly promising 20 year old.
you're an idiot. Uhl is a 4-time NCAA Champ, 6th fastest ever US runner at 10,000 , current NCAA 10,000m record holder, ALREADY had the Olympic 'A' Standard and amazingly (according to you) she did that all without Shalane.
"Did Shalane Flanagan screw Notosha Rogers?"
I dearly hope so.
More, please...
when you step on to the track you are in control of your own destiny. the only person to blame at the end of the day is yourself if you dont make the place, time, team that you wanted. that is what is great about track.
