So if it is a 5K and your best time is 20 minutes, 85% of that effort would be 23 min (20 x .15 = 23, .15 being 15% of 100 or 85%).
In addition to being a fitness guru, this guy is a math whiz.
so 41 minutes is –5% effort

Think what? Show the top 10 that have done a 300lb snatch or more in some valid competition.
Think that it was a qualitative point not a quantitative point. Is this not obvious? Has Kiprop shown any indication of being near as strong as these guys?

It's kind of impressive he's able to finish, given he probably almost doesn't run.

But this is about running. Kiprop has an Olympic Gold Medal, and these crossfit guys....troll recreational running boards.
Here is a case where Corssfit Endurance "worked":
http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/running/The-Agony-and-the-Heresy.htmlBut the reality is that the guy PRed....in 3:39. We're talking really slow here. If you look at the "training" you see 2 interval sessions and a time trial once a week. You are talking something like 10-15 miles a week of running to train for a marathon.
So you take what could be a Joggers World program and you get Joggers World results.
So?
His Facebook page is full of crazy things.

Coach d, you have completely missed what we are talking about. We are talking about how well a top distance runner would do at the Crossfit championships.

XFit and Paleo.
His 4:37 marathon this year is laughable.

HAHAHA
I just showed this X-Fit guru's times to my girlfriend, and the first words out of her mouth were:
"Wow that time is sh*tty! What's he doing telling people how to run?"
Thanks for posting the training trailblazer's times, and giving me a good laugh.
So crossfit and crossfit endurance are relatively recent developments. Mackenzie has an ironman finish in his name in about 11 and a half hours in 2004...before cross fit. Now, 9 years later that 4:32 with fit endurance is pathetic. How can he honestly sell his program with these results?
because most people are even more clueless.
he must be disconnected from the real world -if he wasn't
he would be embarrassed by the times his proteges are
running.

Yes but compare how he looks now and how he looked back then. He was SCRAWNY/FRAIL and rather unhealthy and I don't need to use catchwords to describe how he looks now, you saw the picture I posted earlier.

"We have sub 3 hours marathoners who do less than 10 hours training a week, you know, it speaks for itself".
10h per week in running would mean about 80mpw for the average sub3 Marathoner. Running sub3 on that kind of mileage is no big deal.
However, those guys are probably "JACKED and RIPPED" or whatever xfit_douche would call it...
Did you mph seee the picture of Alan Webb I posted? ROAR!

Forgot to say he is not selling cross fit buffed and shredded. Neither are the regular xfit guys. Mackenzie is selling xfit endurance. Him doing this is like Lindsay Lohan promoting the driving school she went to.

Alan Webb looked big only when compared to even scrawnier runners. But his arms still looked like the ones of a 15 yo girl.
But Alan Webb is a great example. That guy is injured more than he is healthy. Talk about the long term effects of CHRONIC CARDIO couple with an inflammatory diet (grains, dairy, vegetable oils).
inflammatory diet? Are you paleo?

The picture you posted earlier looked like a runner who hits the gym a couple times a week. I'm as big as that guy and I literally do about 20 reps of any weight exercise in a given week.

Probably depends on the exercise.
I've contended most of even the elite crossfitters aren't that strong. They focus on Olympic lift variatiions because it is far easier to get 'big' numbers relative to others because most people don't focus on learning technique in such a way. They have average to sub-par bench/squat/dl numbers compared to other athletes of a similar weight.
They sure as hell couldn't run with Kiprop over any distance, probably including 100m. This is a problem with the vast majority of crossfitters. The fact that so many of these guys have a hard time running indicates to me that they cannot adequately control their body and simply aren't fit in any 'functional' sort of way. Jumping is a problem for them as well.
Why do you keep changing the subject? Do you know when the last time Webb was injured? His arms look better than MacKenzie's, and nothing like a 15 year old girl, unless a 15 year old girl is RIPPED and SHREDDED and taking steriods.
