'settle the argument' you don't belong on Letsrun. You talk too much sense.

"...He might not actually run quicker then a 4 minute mile,..." Still it might help if he at least ran some
road mile races, just for fun.

Kitzbuhel results today
The top swimmer was out of the water in 18:02... the Brownlees were out a few seconds later. LV was out if the water in 18:56. He completely missed the break. He finished the Tri in 32nd...
Ok, he's got some improving ahead of him before he can be competitive. He did have the second fastest run of the day, but 44 seconds slower than the faster Brownlee.
It seems like he needs to improve his swim by 30 or 40 seconds or so before he can be competitive.
I think a lot of Verzbicas' problems today were likely the result of the fact that he just performed in 2 ITU World Cup Class Triathlons in the span of one week.
Not very good planning on his part if you take recovery into consideration.
But the medal is not in a real sport... It's in a quasi sport, where you combine three things that are legitimately competed in, then making screwy so those that can't hang in the true sport have something to do

" fact that the olympic gold was won with a 30:46 10K completely refutes your silly post. end of story. not that it makes a difference (or that anyone would care) but you did NOT write "he needs to get to low 29s if the run is 9.7K."
i did find it mildly amusing that you claimed to have "trained with a Team USA member" (whatever that means. perhaps you held said person's jockstrap?) and that somehow makes your laughable post less laughable. the bottom line is that if LV can run in the 30s on the 10K in a tri, he not only will be competitive with the best in the world, he will beat most of the best in the world. do you have any more moronic posts for us today?
Let me explain. I ran for Nike and about 2 maybe 3 times a week an elite triathlon athlete who represented the US team at the World Championships and one time in the Olympics would train with our training group when our training schedules worked out and he was in town. He often spoke of how inaccurate the World Cup "10k" distances were. One time it might be 29 another 32 or 33. Just the nature of the sport.
This event was not the Olympics. You are looking at one race. If you look at the World Cup events (these feature top elite triathletes) you will see a wide range of times. The winner is often in the 29's.
Now was that so hard to understand?[/quote]
you really don't get it. nobody would dispute that the distances in tris often are wrong (on all 3 legs) but, again your original post was pure nonsense. since this doesn't appear to be sinking in, i'll repeat it for you -- nobody needs to get in the low 29s for the run to "beat most of the best in the world." the olympics was won with a high 30. today in kitz, brownlee won with a high 29. LV had the 3rd fastest run today with a 30:35. thinking that a low 29 run split is necessary to podium in an ITU race shows how out to lunch you are about tris and that you should go back to sniffing the former pro's jock. now that is very easy to understand.
So.... If it was with a 29 high split wouldn't a low 29 have put him at the top?
That's not hard to understand.
Hey Verzbicas, stop posting on here about yourself.

sigh. reading comprehension clearly isn't your strong point. you wrote:
Really needs to drop low 29's if he wants any hope to compete at a world cup event.
it's very hard to understand how you think you wrote:
LV already is fast enough on the run to compete at any World Cup event. It's his swim and bike that need work.
the delusional aspect of posters on here never ceases to amaze me.
Verzbicas' triathlon is Facebook, Twitter, and posting on message boards. He is an ace at all three. He should be on the Lithuanian Olympic team. However, they don't have computers over there yet.

You realize that the guy you're accusing of being Verzbicas has belittled Verzbicas in most of his posts right?
You are annoying. 30:55 is not good enough to get on the podium at MOST world cup events.
Take away the swim and the bike, if the winner runs 29:50 wouldn't he need to run over a minute faster to just be in the mix?
I'm board with you English majors.
i'm sorry that someone who makes sense is annoying. you both don't make any sense and are annoying. your original post that belittled LV still is nonsensical no matter how many times you try and argue different points. LV does NOT need to get in the low 29s to beat most of the top triathletes in the world. repeat that 100 times for everyone so you will learn that and then go away.in other news. you clearly are having extreme difficulty dealing with this fact.
regarding your new points today, 30:55 IS good enough to podium in most world cup events. it was yesterday and it was in the olympics. learn the sport before spouting off more nonsense. also, go back to sniffing the jock of the former olympian.
Well you either are LV or you know him well. You are way too defensive, but either eay you can tell him that lets run doesn't think tri's are a real sport, and that he took the coward's wAy out by leaving his teammates.... And he she race a real man like Chris Derrick and see what happens....
