Attempt to defend this SELFISH PRICK all you want but nobody with half a brain cell is going to forget his blatant disrguard for team ethics by jumping ship with only two races to go! He completely ruined Oregon's cross counrty season and put the whole team under a dark cloud of stress, doubt and conflict! Essentially his post walkout interview revealed his RACIST MINDSET and easy money opportunist agenda!
I'll shut my ass up when he publically appoligizes for what he did. He owes that to all the fans and supporters who sung his praises while he was in high school.
Don't think for a second that I don't want to see this guy concur the World and be the best he can be. I'd want that for anyone, but if your going to hurt and dump people along the way simply because you didn't achieve your personal projected level of success, within your own selfish time frame, then I cannot support that, will not support that, praise that, and will call a stinky pile of $HIT what it is!
Talking about loyalty and being a traitor right dude? Yet I bet you are going to cheer for good old 100% American Bernard Lagat come London 2012 right? Yea, there's no problem in betraying your home COUNTRY after running in two Olympics for them, but a college student deciding he doesn't want to do an NCAA sport somehow is a big deal. It's college dog he can do whatever he wants he's a student. This isn't a big loyalty issue. Lukas is fine, focus your energy on the actual traitors.

There were quite a few gems, to be sure, but only one diamond.
Why is it always the most intellectually stunted morons that feel compelled to type up the most drivel?
If I were on the Lithuanian OC I would change some rules. I am pretty sure Lithuania would be pretty stoked to have him on their team... Perhaps not the other Lithuanian tri-guys so much so.

Would it be possible for LV to compete for Lithuania this year?
When he did his first ITU event as a pro back in January, there was some discussion about him having to accumulate some number of ITU ranking points to be eligible for the Olympics. Since he was injured and hasn't competed again until recently, I doubt he's got the points to be eligible regardless of his citizenship status.
From the main site:
"Think how dominant the USA would be at running without the Africans, and what you have left is the triathlon."
Jesus christ what a load of nonsense.
I thought the same thing. I don't sit here and pontificate about how uncompetitive running is compared to international soccer.
Great job, Lukas. Always happy to see a talented athlete have a strong performance in something they like doing.

It's not up to Lithuania, the Olympic qualification process is largely set by the ITU and Lithuania hasn't qualified to send anybody to the Olympics. National spots are awarded based on the ITU rankings of each nations athletes. The US has qualified for 3 spots for women (the maximum) and 2 spots for men. It's a more convoluted system than the IAAF's Olympic A & B standards, but it recognizes that you can't directly compare times across triathlon events.
So Lukas couldn't represent Lithuania because they don't have a spot to give him and he couldn't represent the US (presuming he'd gotten citizenship in time) because he hadn't met the qualifications to compete in the selection races.
i think many on here are pissed that he didn't stick to running so now they can't bitch and moan/rip him for not running as fast as they think he should run. now they are relegated to bitch and moan/rip him for switching to a sport that he is better at but that they arbitrarily have decided is easier than the sport that they currently get their a$$es handed to in.
Selfish Prick? He's 19 and chose to do what he's amazing at. Nothing selfish about it.
He could have stuck it out at Oregon, been the 4th man on the team in XC. Then not even qualified for NCAA in the 5000 and hoped for a better 2013.
Or...switch to Tri's early on (like he did) and train for a few months in Colorado and become a kickass Triathlete.
With sponsors and Prize money, he'll end up making 100k+ this year.
GREAT for him. Nothing but respect for him and am excited to watch his career for the next 15+ years.
Yeah you're an idiot. If you thought before you posted you would remember LV switched the tri's bc he said that he was more competitive in them, and that he would never be as good in running because of African runners. Boom Roasted!
And as for the brojos front page quote it is only wrong in the sense that they may have given tri's too much credit. I think have of the top runners in America were not privileged enough in their youth to have the money to to the sport.... The sport is only the wealthiest runners , bikers, and swimmers, that are getting pwned in their primary sport...
can you try and write in english? not that i really care but i have no idea what your gibberish is attempting to convey.
Stop talking about this dumb twatwaffle.
Ok I'll talk to you in small words like your a five-year old... Lukas, said himself, that he was doing tri's bc they're not competitive... He said how he would never be good enough to be the African runners, but could be the best tri athlete in the world.... So if you take some time to think, you will ask your self why is this... And like the brojos have found, it's because tri's a richly rich person sport... It's not that the africans wouldnt be as dominate, for Christ sake it's an endurance sport, it's that they will never have access to it... So for those reasons Lukas is kind of a coward, and definitely unamerican... I am very happy he will not represent us in the Olympics. Rupp a true American, uses some ingenuity with AlSal and takes the Kenyans head on, he didn't need to invent a new sport!
Maybe write it in your native language and hit google translate. Your attempts at English, while valiant, are not successful.
You only prove my point my not attacking it on its merits! I know even your small brain can sound these words out
why do you think anyone cares what you have to write when you write like a non native speaker? do us all a favor and learn the difference between "your" and "you're." once you have mastered that, step up to learn what a complete sentence is. in the meantime, enjoy whatever menial job you work at.
I get it, you like grammar, let me guess you are an unemployed recent grad?
Btw I think half the people posting here agree Lukas is a coward
