I bet you're a lot of fun at parties, church lady.
He sounds a little insecure to me...

However, Ritz is slightly faster and I think that he will have no trouble breaking 27:45 in the Trials.
What do you think the purpose of the 5k/5k double was? It was not 5k training.
I don't think anyone doubts that Ritz can run the A standard under reasonable conditions. His problem is that if he has to run the A standard he's the defacto pace-maker for a bunch of guys who already have the standard. He may well run the standard and wind up out of the top 3.
The weather report for Friday is looking good. Definitely Rupp certified for a sub 27:45 - at least for temperature.

Actually if he gets the A standard and ends up 4th or 5th he'd be in a better position than if he got top 3 but missed the standard. If he hits the standard and someone gets injured between now and the olympics he could still be selected to go. If he gets top 3 and doesn't have the standard he can't go no matter what

So by saying this he's insinuating that he's faster than Rupp right now? Fat chance. I would say Bekele is in 12:56 or under shape now, since he was at 13:00 a week or so ago and finally got his track training underway... However there is a world of difference between Bekele's ability to get in shape and Ritz's . Ritz is very talented as a runner but unfortunately he is quite fragile, which is why he'll never be a good marathoner. He'll get 3rd in the 10K to Rupp and Derrick and get 5th or so in the 5K behind Lagat, Rupp, Lomong, and someone else.
What makes you think Rupp is only in 12:56 shape right now? I doubt dathan was referencing a daytime pre classic race, probably something more like where he ran his 12:56. If rupp and mo were in that setting I'd guess they'd be knocking on 12:50 - 12:52.
I bet money dathan will be in the hunt at the final laps of the trials, same as a few years ago when he was largely counted out. When he is not injured, this guy rocks. He ain't injured.
Dathan is a medal shot at london if his training progresses as it has.
I don't think there are any athletes in the world that lie as much as distance runners.
Ritz can't do it. He aint got the guts. He knows he is gonna lose. He can't beat me. He's scared. I'll make him my girlfriend out there. HE CAN"T DO IT!!!!
Wheather permitting, I don't see why he and rupp can't trade laps on 27:50 pace quite comfortably and let the last 1000 to 1600 settle the race out.
Who are the top 10-15 competitors? Two yrs ago it looked like there would be about 10 guys under 27:30, but they didn't keep progressing.
There were guys that did run under 27:30 or looked like they would get to at least 27:40 ... Solinsky, Ritz, Rupp, Bauhs, Moran, Carney, Curtis, Tegenkamp, Torres, Dobson, etc. And these were the 27:00-27:50 crowd.
I looked at the 2012 OT site, but could not find lists of those qualified. They DO however, have interviews with Monzavous Rae Edwards.
Who in the Fock would name their kid in 1983, Monzavous Rae Edwards? Poor guy.

Bauhs, Carney and Dobson have not progressed. Tegenkamp and Torres look past their prime.
What kind of form do Nelson and Curtis have?

What a difference a day might make. The forecast for June 21 calls for a high of 79, which would mean about 77 for the men's 10000 (which begins at 6:45--so, why not later?)if it were held that day. The forecast for June 22, the day the 10000 will actually be run, calls for around 60 at race time. The cooler the temp, the greater chance Ritz has to run the standard and finish top three. If, indeed, the race is run in low 60s or high 50s, Ritz will do both. But if the warm front stalls over Oregon, everything for him becomes much more dicey. And if it is as cool as is forecast, I can see the race being run in the low 27:30s.

Please. Who's going to be the football player this year that claims he is a faster sprinter than Usain Bolt?
Now I'm going to log off Letsrun and go bang my super hot wife under my 1200 thread count sheets.
So if Ritz is right...we got like Mo, Galen and Ritz that could go sub 13:00. Two white boys..and we lost Solinsky.Salazar just does not get it done. Ya know. When is he gonna coach these guys and get it done. Even Haille Geb. says look out for Salazar and his project. Just proud of all of them.Wish Chris S. was healthy...starting to get a pack of white boys...love Mo..just saying who would have thought years ago. Would have been wild to see Ritz, Galen, Solinsky and Mo
all filing in under 13:00. Should list Mo first..sorry.
God I hope you are drunk.

Coaching these guys and get it done? What the heck are you even talking about?! Salazar's may not be the sure-fire best coach, but he HAS been coaching and HAS been relatively successful. What is this business with white boys and Mo? And what difference does it make to list Mo first if Ritz is before Galen in your list? You're such an idiot.
Ok, let me try again. By the way I really resemble that remark. I wrote it real fast. I meant we have had the Kenyans and Ethiopians all down sub 13:00 forever. Finally we get guys like Galen, Ritz and Solinsky who have ventured under 13:00. Just meant we don't get many white dudes down there. Mo of course in ahead of them all. I was joking about Salazar as I have always thought he is amazing. I meant he has done what he said his runners would one day do. He has taken alot of negatives for a long time.
He needs to show me the money. Lots of talking for years and almost always coming up short. Not enough speed for track and yet not strong enough for marathon. Left in nowhere land.
