Why does everyone keep saying that cardio strength helps you get through rounds? It doesn't. What helps you get through rounds is being able to run well under what you have to run in the earlier rounds and "physical strength".

this is bananas. the man has to run 3 rounds of the 800 over four days. he can take his crack at it and then has 2 more rest days to recover before trying the 1500 meters. then he has to get through 2 rounds of the 1500 (tactical races he has little experience with), has yet another rest day, and then has to run the final. it isn't just that the 800/1500 double is tough physically (i won't say that it isn't), but it is really tough because of the tactical races and the randomness. he is wasting a chance if he really isn't running. that schedule was set to maximize the 800/1500 guys' chances to run both.
