Yes and every time big pharma creates more bogus sensasonalist headlines, it's free advertising for them, and their drug sales probably soar.
I hope Armstrong sues the heck out of them, and he wins. Not just for him, but for all of us, the athletes, the so called little people who the giant corporations try to crush, because we only matter to them as a means to sell more of their drugs. To hell with them. They need to leave us alone. Let us to what we want to do, to run, run, run, and to enjoy our lives in peacefulness.
At this point for the simple reason that so many cancer patients look up to Lance I hope they don't have enough evidence to get past the USA's awful justice system. Aside from that....
He 100% used EPO as well as participated in the blood transfusions just like the rest of the TOP 20 riders which is what people need to understand. It was the nature of the sport. It just so happens that of those involved in such actions he was on top. If you know anything about what those drugs & doping procedures can do to the human body you'd be absolutely ignorant to think that a clean Lance Armstrong could dominate guys coming out left & right in admission because the guilt has finally became to much. With that said it is very sad given his contribution to cancer research but at the end of the day it needs to be known for the sake of the sport.
With that said for the US anti doping agency to file charges on Lance Armstrong based on jealousy is moronic. We have all heard of perjury & know where it will place you (Prison) yet people honestly think those who will be testifying are just so jealous of him they'd go to prison to falsely accuse him? C'mon people pretty sure if they were that psychotic they'd be attempting to hurt Lance in other ways rather than risking prison to take him down.
It is all a bit obvious. At the end of the day can you blame him? He did train his ass off, he did work harder than the other riders, he did love the sport. But when you ride for a dirty sport the only way to win is make the playing field even.
I neither dislike or love Lance. I respect him as an athlete even if he is proven guilty. He did what he had to do to beat guys cheating. Can you really be that upset? Can you honestly believe he is clean?
So if you love Lance all I can say is Nike has incredibly deep pockets & its not whether you're guilty or not its about beating the justice system way of determining so. After all me & Casey Anthony are so obviously innocent right? If the glove dont fit you must acquit Ha
They would not go after a hero if there is no evidence... lets not be in denial. Lance is a big fish without evidence no one would be touching him
If athletes are tested and pass the tests, why should anything else be done?
If you are pulled over by cops and given a breathalyzer and you pass, that's the end of it. The cop doesn't go back to the bar and find a witness to say that you were drinking. That's exactly what's going on here.
I don't doubt that Armstrong doped. However, he beat the system. Floyd Landis and Tyler Hamilton didn't. Now, we have this witch hunt of what people saw Armstrong did years ago. If the tests don't exonerate the athlete, why have them at all?
Livestrong gives ZERO money to cancer research. They promote awareness. http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/athletes/lance-armstrong/Its-Not-About-the-Lab-Rats.html?page=all

Finally, the ball cancer is gonna get his Clemens. Time to start a class action lawsuit against this POS.
Do you actually know what a class action lawsuit is ?
Or do you think it makes you sound intelligent?
An awful lot of people defend Lance not because they truly think he is being wronged, but that they don't want to believe they were fooled by him.
Here are the pertinent questions which are being ignored.
What did the Feds want to convict him of?
violations of RICO statutes and federals fraud offenses, specifically using federal funds to facilitate doping
What does USADA want to convict him of?
doping
The objective person would presume that USADA believes they have enough evidence for the second, and that the Feds did not believe they have enough for the first. Whether or not they do is another matter, but these people have quite a lot to lose if they're making stuff up.
By the way, when you work with liars for long enough, you can see through them like a window pane. Accusing the authorities of a personal vendetta for any of a number of silly reasons is pretty much at the top. Armstrong may be completely right in accusing the DOJ and USADA--we'll find out eventually--but I have to say he fits the pattern of a liar.

USADA sounds vindictive and petty. In what way does society benefit from taking down an American hero years after his greatest athletic achievements?
If they wanna send a message, take down Galen Rupp or Kara Goucher. Armstrong, love him or hate him is a) essentially retired, and b) larger than sport.
USADA proves through this action that they're focused on the wrong things.
I agree with this. I'm not necessarily saying Rupp or Goucher, but there are certainly athletes currently doping who are going to compete in the Olympic this year. If there was a strong case against Lance it would have come out years ago. Wouldn't time and money be better spent on the present and future of sport rather than the past?

How is $20 million ZERO money?
LIVESTRONG doesn't claim to be the number one cancer-research supporter in the universe. In fact, they openly show exactly where all their expenditures go right here

I don't have a strong opinion on Lance either way, but don't throw out fraudulent information to undercut his foundation, which DOES a lot of good things for the fight against cancer.
First off..Holy crap, I can't believe my thread made the front page of this site..First time that's happened.
Second thing...Look, whether you care for the guy or not (I am not a big fan just due to everything I have read about his attitude and rumors of paying off testers, etc), the fact is this: Quite simply, he won 7 TDF titles against people who have ALL proven to be doping. Even if he was doping, was he on something THAT MUCH better than what they were on? He still beat the crap out them.
Dear Ironmen,
It's time for you to get some drugs. Lance and his "friends" are about to blow this party open.

Wouldn't time and money be better spent on the present and future of sport rather than the past?I disagree, and for a reason I learned a long time ago in coaching. If you discipline the hell out of your best athletes, the average guys see it and assume it will be far worse for them and they'll always do what they're supposed to do. Ditto here: there is no US Olympian who thinks he'll be let off if USADA/WADA can get Armstrong.
You and the other letsrun dopes are hilarious. If Lance were black, you sorry self-haters would be jumping over each other to defend him and rail against racism etc. Somebody has a hard on for Lance, and they're going to keep doing all they can to smear or ruin him, even if they have to manipulate evidence. You fools believe Lagat got off because of a false positive. That wasn't the case at all. And when Bernie and his coach started wailing about the IAAF making a statement on Bernie's behalf once he was let off, they told them to shut the f@#* up or they would make the details of his case public. Go ahead, look it up you bunch of womanites. LOL
Charges include EPO and all the rest in 2010 and 2009. Who watched the uber-muscular Lance in NYC Marathon? Hmmm...

Uber-muscular , huh ? You must be look like a eunuch .
See What makes it right that he can dope. I have to admit he is the man, but i just hate cheaters. He should be banned. Your argument is very weak.
20 million is 5-10 RO1 grants from NCI, so that is peanuts. Particularly so if you consider that they stopped giving them out 7 years ago. That said,
promoting awareness and helping those with disease to navigate treatment options is incredibly important
and I am a very big fan of LA. I really appreciate that he keeps training and competing. In a world full of under achievers its great to see someone trying to excel instead of sitting his laurels.
Armstrong so clearly doped that it is laughable that he never tested positive.
To win a single modern TdF is incredible. To win two would be almost unbelievable. To win 3 defies logic. To win more than that, with different teams and against different teams and opponents, over varying routes and in varying conditions, is absurd. The fact that the 7 were consecutive is, well, absolutely hilarious!
Whether or not the rest of the top-20 were doped is irrelevant to the fact of Armstrong's doping.
Why keep going after this guy? He's persona non grata at USADA. He hasn't endeared himself to anybody there, and he is a big fish, with a big mouth and a big ego--a most appealing target, for those who enjoy a challenge.
We'll see how he fares in this round.
But no! Not Lance! I mean, you cant go after a guy that has done SO MUCH for cancer...like all that money he pours in cancer resea....well I mean...all that money has to go somewhere right?
