no 5k course, no intercourse
He was just trying to get his Canadian "B" standard time.
Other than potentially doing a fun run with the wife and maybe family, can anyone think of a reason why solinsky entered a 5k a d basically walked 25mins? Is it because he's still hurting or just felt like running with a crowd?? Just curious
Nvm, next finisher behind sol is his wife. Fun run it was
Stop making excuses for him, 25 mins is his current 5k shape right now. The clock never lies. Maybe he could break 20 again, but that is purely hypothetical at this point.
Had to out kick his wife? Come on Sol!

Look at the gun times...he "Kipped" her!
It's a badger 5k, so actually pretty good.
So, was the course Rupp-certified or not?
Regarding the race - only the top 2 finishers were able to avoid being stopped by a train - everyone else had to wait. Obviously he ran with his wife for fun, but everyone in the race had a delay while the train blocked the course.

That sounds like a perfectly good reason to me...
Sounds like FANTASTIC race planning. Holy shit... a TRAIN comes through the middle of the crowd...
Just posted a pic via his twitter. HE RAN THE RACE WITH HIS WIFE AND DOG.

IIRC< I think a train crossing used to cause delays at a small road race held each year in Boston.
I ran a race in Seattle in the early 90's where a drawbridge went up a couple of miles in. It was a timed thing, if you didn't make it past there in time you had to wait a few minutes.
I just looked it up, "Beat the Bridge" just had it's 30th anniversary.
So what is Sol's status? Did he have a big surgery? When does he start training again? It's really too bad we won't have him on an Olympic team this year.
It is very unfortunate. I honestly think Rupp will win a medal. Solinsky is arguably better than Rupp when they are both healthy.
Always good to be 69 with your wife

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
