World Juniors is going to be interesting this year, with these two plus Jessica Judd.
It's about as high up the distances you can go before the over-agers from 'you know where' start ruining things.
throw alice schmidt into the mix (after pre i really think she should look at the 1500 over the 800), and the w1500 team just got that much harder to make. No one's a lock, including jenny B
Nice post. I was checking constantly this weblog and I am impressed! Extremely helpful info particularly the closing phase :) I handle such information much. I used to be seeking this particular info for a very long time. Thank you and good luck. http://www.wholesale-cheapnewerahats.com
all of you clowns, who kept on saying that everything was fine with simpson this year, need to get some new screen names. it was very clear to anyone with a modicum of track knowledge that something wasn't right with her this year. i don't know if she were hurt or she needs to get a new coach but one doesn't get walked down by high schoolers in 2:05 2 months before the olympics and then go on to do well at the olympics.
she has a ton of talent and is an extremely nice person so hopefully she turns it around next year for worlds. she has time.
Simpson had a disastrous ncaa xc when she had a mental issue (but was otherwise fantastic in college at multiple distances) and I would have said that she similarly panicked today but look at the times. She has not run low 4s I want to say for years and the 3:59 was with Wetmore, who should still be her coach. Winning world's was the best to have hoped for ever, so there's nothing bad about it, but it is true that it meant that she'd still be with a coach that hasn't allowed her to touch any of her main event pr's since joining her. Wetmore was the coach for her, no doubt whatsoever, or possibly a disciple of his. She's had the ability to kick off a slow pace but isn't that 3:59 runner any more. So, I really hope that she does change coaches, going back to Wetmore. In a 3:56 year, Simpson could never contend except possibly in a very slow race without really building on her college times, rather than falling way off of them. This is no negative criticism of her as a person. I want her to succeed and that's what I think will do it.
I second my comments of awhile ago. Nevertheless, she's a stand up girl--witness her comments today--and one hopes she shines again time wise as she did in 2009. Her PR this year is 4:05.xx, with 4:03s in 2010 and 2011, but of course 3:59 in 2009.

Since leaving Wetmore and Colorado, Simpson has PRed in only one event--the 800. All her other PRs go back to 2009. It's bizarre to say, but the worst thing that happened to her career was winning Worlds, because that meant she would stay with her current coach, and that is a dead end.
