Wow!! What a race, I'm not sure if even rudisha expected that fast of a time. I hope he can improve on this form and still peak at the Olympics to really solidify his GOAT status though. Decent race for Robby, but I think this race really shows why he'll end up being a better 1500 guy than 800 man, he was just running full around in lane 3 half the race trying to make up a lot of ground in the last 150 which can't be done on the world stage. The dude is a hell of a runner but his 800m racing style is much less effective on the elite stage. Can't wait to see rudisha take a run at the 1:40 barrier this year!!
I also think he is in the best shape ever and if he will ever dip under 1:40(put it 1:40.50)then it is this year. He should go for it after the Olympics.
For Kaki, he should just accept that Rudisha is way better than him and try to consolidate his silver position because there are so many young men who are ready to snatch that one from him as well. Talk of Aman, Kosencha, Kszczot and the new guy from Botswana who ran 1:43.11.
