If this truly was the Ethiopian Olympic Trials, does Big Bekele get a free pass? Or is that only for the 10000m

He's always wayy back at 200 to go, but he always moves up. His last lap was the same as Rupp's at Pre. I think KB isn't confident in his ability to go with the pace from a long way out. Let's hope that comes around.
K. Bekele's last lap was 55.98... all in the last 200 meters.
Winner's last lap = 54.36
Winning time = 12:58.92
K. Bekele time = 13:00.54
60.54-58.92 = 1.62
1.62 + 54.36 = 55.98
Pacing is horrible here. W 1500 2:13 for the 800.
Aregawi in 4:02 - new star here.
Nothing worth talking about in womens 15

Yes. The officials in Ethiopia know Bekele's situation. After this early track season, he knows where he's at- a slight improvement in his last couple of laps and he's back to winning races (not to mention, it's possible that even now he could beat any of these guys in the 10). If anyone seriously doubts Bekele, go and look up El Guerrouj's progression in 2004 from early-season injury to double Olympic champion.
Chaunte Lowe wins for the USA in 1.97
Lowe has ridiculous abs.
Bolt and Powell are warming up.
Rumour has it that Bolt has run 9.6 in training without blocks.
Yes, imagine how many sit-ups you have to do for that. She's a nice character in t&f !

Or you could just eat some "supplements".
So now it looks unlikely that Bekele will be running the 5k in London, correct?
Next up is an unbelievable stacked field in the 100mH: Lolo, Jess Ennis, Lopes-Schliep, Sally Pearson, Carruthers
If I was the Ethiopians I'd take the top 2 from today and Bekele for my team.
Ennis - False Start.
